Pet care experience
I'm a work-from-home cat mama with 11 yrs experience caring for my own, others', and shelter animals with particular experience engaging positively with anxious dogs and caring for cats with special medical needs (e.g., administering medications/pills, handling special food needs, etc.). Available for drop-in visits and/or walks, I want to give your fur babies love and attention while being mindful of what each animal needs and is comfortable with in order to be happy and healthy. This includes learning about your dog's favorite walks or playtime activities, what special attentions your animals need, and how I can best befriend and care for your animals. Note that I am generally available 1-11pm on weekdays and any time on weekends, but my hours are subject to adjustment on a case-by-case basis. Please also note that I have a physical limitation (back-related) that makes it difficult for me to handle large dogs who are erratic or unpredictable walkers, in which case I may not be the best fit for your pup! But if your high energy pup is a predictable walker and likes going to an off-leash dog park, I'm happy to play fetch with a ChuckIt!, frisbee, or other toy and ensure they get their exercise! I like to start off any animal-care relationship with a meet & greet so that I can get to know your pet and yourself a bit. I realize this looks different in the time of COVID. In the case that I am caring for your dog, I am happy to meet outdoors and request that anyone present (myself included) wear masks. I am also happy to arrange an initial video meet & greet on Zoom if that's more comfortable.

Dani is WONDERFUL. She stayed in my home and cared for my elderly dog (and cats!) multiple times when I was away, and I would absolutely recommend her as a dog sitter.
Dani was great with Bandit! Bandit is a rescue who is generally very skiddish, especially around new people- it's taken him 20 minute to get out the door for dog walkers before. But when Dani came to pick him up, he ran right outside with no hesitation. This is unheard of for him, and clearly indicative of some super animal-whisperer qualities!
Dani was absolutely an animal whisperer for my dog! Dani cared for my German Shepherd mix, Olive, for a week several years ago, while I was travelling internationally. Olive is a former stray with a history of abuse, and she is not trusting of new people, to put it mildly. I was concerned I might have to cancel my trip if I couldn't find someone whom Olive would trust. Dani came over to my apartment several times before I left to meet and interact with Olive, and I was astonished at how quickly Olive warmed up to her! Dani got down on the floor to be at Olive's level, brought her treats, and played gently with her. While I was away, Dani sent me a detailed update twice a day, with photos! Olive even let Dani cuddle her (something she rarely lets me do!) Even after my return, Olive would greet Dani with joy whenever they met. Dani was incredibly compassionate and caring with my special needs dog. If Dani can befriend anxious, curmudgeonly Olive, I feel confident in saying she can befriend almost any creature! You'd be lucky to have her.
Dani is one of the kindest, smartest and most gentle humans I’ve ever had the opportunity to meet. Her cat Dorian started out life as a bottle foster I raised and I do not let my fosters go with just anyone. She has been a wonderful and caring parent and guardian for Dorian and I know she would do the same for your pets.
