Pet care experience
Hello, my name is Dana Z, owner and operator of Dogma Boarding LLC I started Dogma to give your dog a comfortable and enjoyable place to be while providing you with peace of mind. Your dogs' happiness and safety is my priority, I treat all dogs as if they are my own. Work and travel may be stressful but you can know your beloved fuzzball will be happy and safe while they are here. My home is accessible and cozy: Rugs to maintain traction, provide soft play space and take naps. A fully fenced yard with an astro-turf patio and mulched area for even more play space and sunbathing. Senior and special needs dogs are more than welcome. While here, your dog will be a part of small group, which means they will receive tons of individual love & attention and always have the option to play, go outside or take a quiet nap. When dog-dynamics allow, we go for walks around the neighborhood. Everyone from Malamutes to Min Pins have enjoyed their time here. All Dogs Must Be: - Spayed or Neutered. - Housebroken. - Up to date on all vaccinations. - Friendly, or at least tolerant, to other dogs. *To ensure a positive boarding experience for everyone, at least one full day of daycare is required prior to a confirmed boarding reservation. A little more about me and my experience: I have cared for animals all my life. I love nature and the outside, I like dogs more than most people. My work experience includes shift-lead and pack management at large daycare and boarding facilities in Portland, hospitality and property management. My darling old dog, Daisy, passed away on October 15th of this year. She was 15 years old and live a life full of adventure and love. Her adopted little-sister, Mini, was a special needs dog, who spread sunshine and smiles everywhere she went. Mini passed away August 24th, 2020 from bone cancer. Having dogs in my life helps me thrive and I am so grateful to be able to host dogs in my home. One of the best compliments I ever received was 'I don't want Dana's dogs, I want to BE Dana's dogs.'
Reviews
Thanks Dana for all your care for Stevie!!!
Dana is very responsive and flexible, even when I need dog-sitting last minute! She takes great care of my dog CC, I highly recommend sending your dog to her doggy day care, they'll have a lot of fun!
Dana took excellent care of Max over the Fourth of July weekend when there was high potential for fireworks, which terrify him. He was calm and happy when I picked him up.
Superb! Baxter’s home away from home!

Safety, trust & environment
When your dog is here, their safety is the most important thing to me. My property is fully fenced. Within my lot, the outside yard for dogs is fenced with four-foot hog wire. I have backyard chickens and ducks which are kept separate from the dogs. When we go for walks all dogs are leashed all the time. Absolutely no off-leash time. I do not have toys out. Occasionally I will bring out my box of dog toys, but only when there is no risk of possessive, aggressive behavior. Dogs are always fed meals separately.

Information Dana Z. would like to know about your pet
All dogs must be friendly, or at least tolerant, to other dogs. Crate trained dogs are given priority for boarding. I'm interested in learning about your dogs favorite things as well as triggers and past boarding experience.
A typical day
When dog-dynamics allow, dogs are walked at least once a day. We do a 1/2 mile loop to Essex Park or a 1 mile loop to Kern Park (or a variation in-between). Sometimes we go for runs or trips to the Rhododendron Garden. We'll go for drives or even hikes in The Gorge - pet parents will be contacted for approval before any car trips. Your dog will have constant supervision during indoor and outdoor play with potty breaks every 2 to 4 hours.
