Dogs are my passion!

Pet care experience

My very first job was at a doggie daycare. After that i’ve been dog-sitting ever since! I am a certified dog walker and graduate of the Dog Biz University Dog Walking Academy. I was a dog walker for a private company in San Francisco so I have walked dogs through many different terrains and conditions. I have also fostered dogs & volunteered with a local rescue. This has provided me loads of experience with proper dog walking techniques and how to deal with potential triggers encountered on walks. I have personal experience caring for all types of dogs including puppies as young as 8 weeks old, senior dogs & dogs with special medical needs. I know first hand how hard it can be to find someone you trust to care for your dog, so a big part of why I signed up for Rover is to help make it easier for every owner to find a reliable, trustworthy sitter for their canine family member.

Dana is considerate, easy to work with, and has a very good head on her shoulders and She’s just as good with animals as she is with people. You could tell she has a lot of experience as she did a great job handling my reactive dog.

Dana has cared for my dogs multiple times over the last several years, she has stayed in my home and is extremely trustworthy and responsible. Because of these traits, she is my 1st choice to care for my pups when I go away. I tend to be very nervous leaving them with anyone but I am most at ease when Dana is with them. She is truly a kind and gentle animal lover. She is always excellent with communicating with me while I am away as well as making arrangements prior to my trips. She is the best! Mary K.

Dana grew up in an animal-friendly family and has continued that tradition by having her own "family" of 4-legged friends. So, she will totally understand your desire to have your own family member(s) have as much of a stress-free experience when you're not able to be home with them. Dana will tend to their needs as if they are her own - relax and know that your dog(s) are being taken care of by someone who cares about them as much as you do.

I’ve known Dana forever and can honestly say she is one of the biggest animal lovers ever. All her life she has been drawn to animals and seems to have a special way with them. When it comes to dogs and cats she has a heart of gold. She would do anything for any pet. Dana has experience in raising puppies, fostering dogs, pet sitting and also administering medicine. Her favorite thing to do is discovering new hiking trails to take the dogs on. She has also been known to teach some dance moves to dogs. You can be certain that any animal will be quite happy in Dana’s loving care.

My dogs are crated when I am not home and I will have no problem navigating the use of one in your home. If there is a backyard you'd like your dog to have time in I will make sure to supervise them while they get their sniffs in!

Information Dana M. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has any special needs such as accommodating their reactivity towards people or other dogs. I have a lot of experience working with reactive dogs.

A typical day

I always start my day off with a nice walk with my dogs and always allow extra time for them to stop and really take in their surroundings. I feel exercise & stimulation are the most important things for a happy, healthy dog, so even if weather gets in the way, I always make up for it with playtime inside.
