I've been wanting my own dog for years, but pre-pandemic, I traveled a lot, so I picked up dog walking, boarding and sitting to satisfy my desire to spend time with animals. (I'm new to Rover, not new to pet care! See images of reviews from another platform). It turned out, I actually really love this lifestyle of helping care for others' pets. Especially during this pandemic, your pets are my only source of non-virtual socialization. I really enjoy developing long-standing relationships. I've been learning about dog training by Zak George's youtube series (highly recommend!). Sitting allows me the fun challenge of figuring out how to adapt to accommodate different dogs. I agree with Zak George's philosophy of only using positive reinforcement to improve behavior and that the most important thing is developing trust and forming a genuine bond. I'll do whatever I can to help your loved ones feel less anxious while you're away so we can play and enjoy our stay-cation together. :)
