Pet care experience
Hello! I’m 23 years old, working at Zen Dog Spa while aspiring to be a Groomer. I have been around dogs and cats my whole life and have also worked at a boarding facility for the past 3 years. I like this way of pup sitting better because it offers a more personal experience, as I can get to know the dog and their routine. I'm knowledgable, compassionate, and attentive. I can spoil them with infinite belly rubs and treats or stick to the script and do everything as the owner would! I'm accustomed to working with many different kinds of dogs; old, young, special needs, fearful, quirky etc. I love them all, especially the squishy face, drooly ones. There isn't a dog on this planet, that I do not love unconditionally. I treat every dog as my own fur baby.
Reviews
Dana was amazing with Summer! She is reliable and came on the days we agreed on and was flexible when we came back early to change days. Summer got sick unfortunately and Dana helped clean the mess on the floor too. I really appreciate Dana’s help. She really went above and beyond.
Grace and I understand that we have a pretty unique situation with the dogs and chicks, so we thought Dana really stood out based on her reviews and experience. I don't doubt that she is wonderful with animals, as ours did seem to like her company, but based on the mess, communication issues, and health issue, we can't leave a positive review for the house sitting. Here are the issues we ran into and why we, unfortunately, had to provide a negative review: Communication issues: We originally discussed around three visits a day, but on the first full day it was more like one visit and one tiny visit. This led to some accidents in the house, which never happens. Once Dana told us there was over a 12-hour gap from the last visit, she did remedy the situation and had a more regular schedule, which we appreciated. The mess: We came home to bits of blanket all over the place, dog poop wrapped into a blanket and put in our washing machine, dog pee all over our couch and some other furniture, puke stains from not having been out soon enough, and non-dog blankets used for the dogs. We got home around 11 and were cleaning the house until at least 2 am. Health issue: Gizmo our pug wouldn't open his eye when we got home. When we left there were no issues, but when we got back he was lethargic, not eating (very abnormal), and of course the eye. We got him over to the vet and there is a pretty good scratch on his eye. These things do happen, but it was clearly an issue during the visit, and it would have been helpful to know about it so we could find a solution... and not a surprise vet visit. As I said, I'm sure Dana is great with a set scheduled for walks or visits, but this was a larger scope and there was a pretty hefty mess left behind.
Dana was awesome with our dog and cat! She clearly really loves animals and took great care of our babies. She was very communicative and professional. Would definitely hire her again!
Dana is wonderful with Rylie. She arrives in the given time frame and sends pics and updates. Rylie is always smiling in the pics :-)
