Pet care experience
I've personally owned 4 dogs in my life (2x beagles, a chihuahua and a boxer/rot mix), taken care of more dogs than I can count including a diabetic dog for weeks before & feel comfortable giving shots and my best friend's family bred dogs growing up (cairn terriers) so I was always around them at every life stage from puppies to seniors! I'm a huge animal lover and like volunteering with them as well. The last time I went out for something like that was to take rehab dogs out from a prison so they could experience running around a park and work on their commands in a less controlled situation. Also when I'm asked what my super power is, I usually answer that dogs have always really like me! For what it's worth, the only reason I don't have a dog of my own right now is because I used to work long/sometimes inconsistent hours, and had roommates that were opposed to the responsibilities. Both those things have changed this past year and I'm on the path to getting my own dog again, just not in a rush because I think it's a decision to not be taken lightly.

Dan is an avid dog whisperer. He has a gentle and sincerely sweet handle on pups. He grew up in a household filled with two of them, and frequently went out of his way to make sure they were cared for. Dan has previously helped me with dog sitting responsibilities in the past and has always been a reliable and careful handler. From his cheery disposition to his wife breath of experience, anydog would be lucky to have Dan around to watch them. He enjoys being active with dogs and making sure they get a reasonable amount of snuggles. Your search is over because Dan is the best sitter you could hope for.
Ever since I met Dan he had been great with dogs of all sizes. He is also a super friendly person that gets along with owners and dogs alike.
Dan dog sat our husky, Shadow, while we were on vacation for over a week. Dan took shadow on many walks throughout the day and sent us pictures frequently. Shadow is diabetic and Dan was great with feeding him on time and administering the insulin injections twice a day. I would highly recommend Dan to take care of any dog.
I lived with Dan for a few years and have been his friend for many more. He is one of the biggest dog lovers I know and dogs love him almost as much. He's always been great with my dog and is one of the nicest people I know. Dan is extremely responsible and reliable. I would trust him with my dog's care in a heartbeat.

I live in a building that is very dog & kid friendly. My only concern is knowing if they get along with them ok. If they do, I'd like to know beforehand so I would feel much safer taking them on the elevator where either another dog or a child could be on the other side when the doors open. If they don't play well with other dogs or children that's not a problem! I have multiple stairwells in my building and will always have a way of taking them outside that is virtually risk/interaction-free.
A typical day
I'm connected to Fairmount park because of the 29th st bridge at the end of my block, so definitely around there. There's so much space for walks and playing fetch or tug of war. I usually go up to Wissahickon trail as well because it's so close and can walk around there for hours of fun.
