Pet care experience
My mother has been a professional dog groomer in the Las Vegas area for almost 20 years. Prior to moving to Oregon in 2015, I had steadily helped her with her pet care business for nearly 15 years. I have always had various breeds of dogs in my home throughout my life and a few cats too, although I do not provide cat care. I have worked with puppies, older adult dogs, a multitude of different breeds, temperaments and personalities and I whole heartedly admire the love and loyalty from each and every individual furry companion. Life is always better with a dog (or 100!) ! 🐾 🐶 My passion for animals continues to grow the more of them I meet :)
Reviews
Damon always takes great care of my dog while I’m away on trips. He’s calm, trustworthy, and very communicative.
Damon was amazing watching Jasper. He kept us updated with anything that happened and he made sure our little puppy was cared and loved for
This was Mali’s first stay and she loved her time with Damon! Damon sent us updates and pictures and she was obviously happy and well loved. She came home tired from playing with him and his dog Moose, who is a lovable lab. We have already booked Mali’s next stay with Damon.
Damon is the bees knees caregiver of dogs. Excellent communication and went above and beyond with Enrichment. My Nesta had a blast with him and his pup Moose and we can't wait to play again!

Information Damon S. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog has any special needs, allergies or disabilities and I am happy to accommodate as necessary. I worked with my mother for several years with special needs dogs including blind dogs, dogs missing limbs and dogs with severe allergies. If your dog has any type of restrictions please let me know. It’s also necessary to let me know if your dog isn’t 100% potty trained and/or if they are frequent barkers. Meet & Greets are necessary for a successful relationship between pet and sitter. Unless you are coming from out of town, It is very unlikely I will approve a request before a formal meet & greet. UPDATE NOTE to existing and future clients: Many of my previous reviews mention and comment on the oversized backyard and you may see it in a few of my gallery photos. I am no longer at that location as of October 2023. My new home has a smaller (still fully fenced) yard. However, the care and love remains the same and your dog will always feel at home when they are with me.
A typical day
I am able to provide multiple walks per day ranging between 20 minutes to an hour+ long depending on your dog’s energy levels. If your dog goes to the dog park during their normal lives I am happy to take them. I love disc golfing and if your pup is lucky they can tag along with me on one of many Portland area’s beautiful disc golf parks. Some lucky pups might even get a trip to the coast or a hike along the Gorge. If your dog prefers to lounge around and is content with relaxing and taking it easy, that’s always okay too. It’s very important to me every dog gets their individual needs met and quality time.

Availability
After spending over 5 years in the medical field specializing as a hemodialysis technician, I decided to temporarily transition from patient care to pet care as I pursue my Bachelor’s in Psych and eventually an MSW. I am currently a full time student with Oregon State University through their E-Campus and my schedule is exclusively online which allows me to have extended around-the-clock quality time with your dogs in the comfort of my own home or yours.
