Dakota is one of the most responsible and caring individuals that I know. I have known him for 10 years and could not recommend someone better to take care of your pets. Several times over the years I have called on Dakota to care for my own pets when I am out of town, and neither my fish nor my cat has ever complained. I work as a veterinary technician, and when 4 abandoned kittens showed up at my office he was the first person I called to foster them. He took all four in and cared for them for almost a year until we were able to find permanent homes. Two of the kittens were born with genetic defects of the eyes - luckily were able to operate and restore sight to both kittens. Dakots not only provided the post op care, he also helped to pay for the surgery. I can say with confidence that he will take excellent care of any hurt or sick pets that require special attention. He is a flexible, caring individual that will ensure your pets are happy and healthy while you are gone.

Dakota is a perfect dog caregiver. He's kept my dog, Marlene, several times over the past couple of years. I like most that he asks thoughtful questions and listens to what my sweet dog is used to, then follows the instructions to the letter. When he keeps Marlene, he sends me text photos with funny captions and I swear, if dogs could type, she would be writing this. She loves him and remembers him between visits, which can be up to eight months between. Marlene's older and has lost 95% of her hearing, but he still talks to her and his loving, protective tone is so genuine, it makes my eyes water. I think her limitations make him even more tuned in to her. He is dependable and flexible. I once had to extend a trip by several days unexpectedly. Dakota rearranged his plans significantly so that I wouldn't have to find somewhere else for Marlene to stay and so that she wouldn't have to learn a new environment. Dakota is active and so enjoys dogs that like lots of walks and play. He's tall and strong and laughs when he talks about happily keeping two Great Danes in the past. However, if he has a poor old soul like Marlene, who prefers quiet time and mostly just resting, he treats her like royalty and is actually grateful for the time they spend together.
