Giving Your Fur Baby A Happy Home
Pet care experience
I have covered my friend's professional dog sitting and day care business for multiple weeks while she's travelled out of town. My responsibilities included over-night boarding for up to eight small dogs, feeding multiple dogs at meal times, cleaning up after multiple dogs (including puppy care) and adhering to all special requests (dietary, medications etc.) from pet parents. In this role I'd check-in with owners on a daily basis and was sure to give a lot of love, attention and play. I've even have some experience with emergency circumstances where a dog was having medical symptoms, which required careful and honest conversations with the pet parents to insure the best care. In terms of day-care, I have watched up to 14 small dogs at once (it was Thanksgiving and my friend had a lot of business!) this included coordinating pick-up and drops offs with clients and maintaining excellent communication. I have also been a step-mom to my sweet baby kitty Knotts for over 10 years and love love love cats!
Reviews
Cynthia was amazing!! We have a special needs dog who needs a lot of attention and she warmed up to Cynthia quickly. We were able to enjoy our vacation knowing that our dog was in great hands. She (Cynthia) sent daily updates and pics which was great to see how well they did together. We will definitely be repeat customers with Cynthia. #CynthiaBestdogsitter!
Cynthia was AMAZING! I highly recommend her for all your dog services. She kept excellent notes and sent them at the end of each day. Pictures and videos as well. She’s wonderful!
Cynthia is the best! First and foremost she took wonderful care of our sweet dog while we were away for two and a half weeks. We received a daily report on how she was doing and pictures of their walk routs and pictures of our girl. Also, our home, inside and out, was in tip top shape. Cynthia really kept up on those “house chores”. I highly recommend Cynthia as a pet/house sitter.
Cynthia takes great care of the dogs she walks and Chance is always so happy to see her!

For Daycare & Boarding in a Client's Home... I like to keep pets on their regularly scheduled meal-times and walk times, so I try to find out what these times are with owners. Being away from pet parents can be difficult, so I try to engage dogs in as much play as possible. I usually set timers throughout the day to make sure we get out into a backyard or patio (or whatever space is available) to play. I usually send a photo text once a day to pet parents and try to respond to owners via texts or calls within one hour of receipt to ensure good communication. I make sure water is refreshed daily. I clean up any accidents right away. I also take detailed notes with any other special requests including: medication administration, dietary notes, brushing requests, treats and anything else I can do to make your pet feel more at home while you're away. I'd also like to discuss any house rules and/or boundaries that you have for me when I am staying in your home to make you feel as comfortable as possible. For Dog Walking... I honestly have less experience with dropping by to walk pets but I know enough from my Day Care and Boarding experience to be very conscious of the energy I bring into a dogs home and I strive to maintain the same level of effective communication that I have brought to other clients. I also have a lot of experience calming a down a dog they are afraid and avoidant. For cats... I'm new to cat sitting but I would take care of any cats like I do my own. I'd make sure the box is completely clean everyday, the water is fresh, food is administered at the usual feeding times and anything else I can do to ensure comfort (like brushing if they find that soothing). I am also conscious of giving cats space and time when I enter their territory. I do have some experience with administering cat medications. I'm also open to bringing in the mail and watering plants if you have a longer stay.
Information Cynthia R. would like to know about your pet
I think sociability and reactions to other dogs is the most important thing to know. I also like to find how they react to strangers entering their space. Also dietary guidelines and any medications and medical issues.
A typical day
I mostly try to play tug of war with toys, entice pups to jump for toys, fetch and a little chasing if we have the space (and depending on the dog). Also walks in nearby parks with the owners permission.

Availability
I am currently working part-time as a Lyft Driver so my schedule is very flexible. I have degrees in journalism and creative writing and also take on freelance work here and there, which enables me to work remotely if a long term stay comes up.
