Fur, feathers or scales, I love all

Pet care experience

I grew up with dogs, cats, an African grey parrot and a ball python. I love every one of them and would gladly spend all my time with them if I could. I've helped train puppies and kittens as well as being the primary care giver of a parrot where I interacted with him daily from feeding to cage care to companionship. I currently live with my ball python and my two cats Ramen and Rigitoni. I visit my parents every couple weeks where I interact with my two childhood dogs Minion and Riley and their new boxer puppy Floki. I also help my sister with the chickens and engage in conversations with their parrot Pepper. My cats get fed every day twice a day and get new water daily in their fountain water bowl. Their 3 litterboxes get cleaned every night before my evening shower. One of my cats has health issues so I also administer medication. My childhood dog Minion has epilepsy and a allergy based skin condition so I am versed in giving various topical and ingested medications to both cats and dogs as well as taking care of the bathing needs of a pup with sensitive skin. My grandparents' dog had diabetes so I am familiar administering regular injections of insulin. All animals in my care get to play often and cuddles are more than welcome. Many pets are shy and wary and that's ok too as I am familiar with slow introductions and with cats and dogs who are excitable and loud. I am also versed in the caretaking of bearded dragons, snakes (corn, hognose, ballpython, boa, reticulated python, egg eating), leopard geckos, guinea pigs, hamsters, parrots, farrets, and various other small animals. Any which I have not encountered or cared for, I am more than willing to learn and do the research before a booking. More experience with animals is more experience with loving another creature.

Unfortunately this wasn't a good experience for us. Our sitting was supposed to start at 6pm on a Friday, no one showed up to the house until after 9pm. I questioned this and was told this was a one time thing and someone would be at the house more during the rest of our time away, this did not happen. I met the two people that would be staying at our house, I then saw on our ring doorbell they had another person with them that I did not meet or approve to be in our house. We also heard them say they didn't need to lock our front door because we have dogs, they did correct this after I told them they need to lock our door regardless of the fact we have dogs. I was asked if I wanted to receive pictures while we were away, I replied yes but received none. I received no communication unless I reached out to them. We also came home to every light on in the house and dirty dishes in the sink. I could keep going with the things I was unhappy with but the list is to long. It's unfortunate because they seemed like very responsible people that were excited to spend time with our animals but once we were gone that didn't seem to be the case. I hope they learn from their mistakes at our house and don't continue them at anyone else's.

I did not expect Cynthia to bring another person along to sit as well - who would be taking Cynthia's place when she 'was in class'. I was disappointed upon my return as her roommate had taken my dog out for a walk and left both the front door and back door unlocked, all the lights on and the house in disarray along with many dishes in the sink. Furthermore, I did arrive an hour earlier than expected, however I had texted Cynthia to that effect. Leaving a house unsecured is not a good idea.

Very happy with Cynthia’s care of my dogs. She was very attentive and sent me updates and pictures. She truly cared about my dogs and their comfort. Highly recommend her services and will call her again.

Information Cynthia F. would like to know about your pet

What energy level does your dog have? What are their favorite things to do or play with? Do they need any medical treatments? How do they react to new people or other animals? Do you have other animals? What is their feeding schedule and their typical care routine?

A typical day

I like to find out exactly what each pet prefers. Any high energy dogs can look forward to walks exploring their neighborhood and experiencing new sounds and smells. Lower energy, old or disabled dogs get a treat to smaller, more managable walks with frequent breaks to to catch our breath and take in the scenery before walking again. No matter the ability of the dog, the goal is always to keep them mobile and healthy and every dog can expect lots of playing and pets.
