Let Me Do the Ruuuffff Work!

Pet care experience

Hi, my name is Cydnee R. I live in a quiet neighborhood with my fiancé, Daniel, and our three dogs, two of which were rescued. Our rescued dogs are mixed breeds; a Boxer-American Bulldog mix and an American Pitbull Terrier- Shar Pei mix. I have a deep love of all animals and grew up with horses and dogs. I am currently going to school, trying to get into Veterinary school to earn my Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. I have more than six years worth of experience working in a veterinary clinic where I have obtained valuable knowledge about canine and feline health problems. I can administer medication and have experience giving medication in treats/food, pilling, as well as administering via intramuscular injection and subcutaneously. I have worked with special-needs and senior pets as well as aggressive pets. One of our two rescue dogs is special-needs with epilepsy and requires daily medication. I have experience in animal boarding care and have been responsible for the care and well-being of the pets at a previous veterinary clinic by feeding, watering, and administering medication and currently work as a veterinary technician in Keizer. I am very experienced and comfortable with all sizes and breeds of dogs. Each dog has their own personality and behaves differently. I believe it is necessary to learn and become familiar with their unique qualities as well as their likes, dislikes, and fears. I prefer to pet sit at the pet's home, as I believe this makes pets feel more relaxed and at ease. I am currently available all seven days of the week, however, I do work when I am not in school; Tuesday from 8am-6:30pm, Thursdays and Fridays 12pm-6pm. I work some Saturdays as well, but it varies. I will gladly do other house-sitting services such as watering plants or getting mail, etc. Just notify me of the tasks you would like me to complete while you are away. I will leave your home exactly how I found it, as I am a very tidy person. As far as dog walking goes, I would love to get out with your pup! I am mostly available in the evenings, but please inquire anyway!

Cyndee is amazing! We were out of the country for 10 days and honestly pretty nervous about using Rover for the first time. Cyndee helped us feel at ease from the get-go. She was the first dog sitter we contacted, and she responded within minutes and confirmed she was available for the dates we needed. She was very upfront with her schedule so we could make sure to have someone stop by on the one day the dogs would be inside a little longer than usual. Cyndee did a socially-distant house-call with our masks on so she could meet our dogs, see the house and we could talk about the details. She spent an hour with me and we talked about each dog in detail, what their personalities are, what we're working on with them, etc. At one point she was even sitting on the sidewalk giving Hondo lots of pets! I felt so comfortable and confident with her. She waited until after the meet and greet to accept our request, so we both were sure it would work out before we were committed. In the days leading up to our trip, Cyndee sent me a super detailed questionnaire. She wanted to know what kind of tricks the dogs knew, what words they answered to, what their sleep schedule was... it was great. Cyndee was awesome at sending us pictures while we were gone! I loved it-- especially on the first day. We had to leave the house in the middle of the night to catch our flight, and Cyndee made sure to come over first thing in the morning to let them out. She sent us pictures right away and let us know, "all good here!" We received fun pictures and updates every few days while we were gone. When we got home, we were so pleasantly surprised to see the house exactly as we left it. Honestly, it was hard to see what she had even touched! She wrote us the kindest 2-page note all about what the dogs were like and how much she loved them. Since she is actually a vet tech at a local clinic, Cyndee was able to offer expert advice about our dogs! One of our dogs probably has an allergy that she is really familiar with, so we're hopeful that we'll be able to get him some treatment now. Our other dog is pretty misbehaved, and she worked with him on a few key behaviors while we were gone and noticed a big improvement! The icing on the cake was the two pieces of artwork our dogs "made" for us. I have no idea how she did it, but somehow she got the dogs to paint us pictures and it is the cutest thing. What a sweet touch! Anyway, all this to say, I recommend Cyndee. She is wonderful and we are so thankful for her.

The pet sitting itself was good, but I had to suggest and proactively schedule the meet and greet/key exchange before the scheduled dates. Also, after the visits I had to initiate contact (a week later) about getting my keys back. When she did not show up the first time we set up to return keys, communication ended. This was over a month ago and I have moved, so I'm not pursuing it further.

We booked w/Cydnee on very short notice. Her response time to my questions was great. To find out she works at a vet office . . . over the top. Our very spoiled Doberman has some health issues, one of which is he's diabetic and needs his insulin shot on a specific timeline. Cydnee was more than capable, and accommodating to his schedule. He's also blind, and while walking him on a country road, you need to hollar "Ditch" for when he veers towards something he needs to slow down for. She had no issues hollaring at blind dog as their walking down the road. Country roads are the best!!! And to top it off, she noticed that Panzer must have gotten a grass seed stuck under his skin from his many journies into the grass fields, and she brought it to our attention that he might need to go to the vet to make sure the seed is gone, and the abscess is taken care of. Anyways, would I recommend her, absolutely. Would I use her again, absolutely. Did my dog love her, absolutely. Even my cat who is fearful of strangers, made an appearance or two w/Cydnee. Thanks so much Cydnee!

Cydnee has been taking care of our pets for 3 years and we never have to worry when we're out of state or the country that they are in good hands. She even checked to see if our flight would be greatly delayed and offered to help if needed. Our boys love Cydnee and she loves them! We highly recommend her! Debra and Andy

Information Cydnee R. would like to know about your pet

I would love to know any commands that your pet knows so that I can use them while you are away! I believe consistency is the key, so common commands are required. I would also like to know how you pet behaves around certain objects. Do certain things scare him/her or does he/she get overly excited when people walk by? Is he/she overly timid or aggressive? I want to get to know the personality of your pet, since he/she will be all I am focusing on while you are away! I would also like to know about any health concerns or anything I should be keeping an eye out for. Vaccination records would be nice, since I have some boys of my own! I would also like to have your pets veterinarian's phone number as well! Also, any feeding routines or conditions that require them to have to go potty more would be great to know. I am really excited to be able to spend some time with your pet/s and give them the time they deserve, time they wouldn't always get at a boarding facility!

A typical day

It is very important for pets to feel safe and comfortable at home, therefore consistency in their schedule is important to me. I have a calming effect which will help your pet feel comfortable and relaxed. I love to play with animals and will give your pet ample exercise and mental stimulation to help them expend energy and be happy. For senior pets, who require less activity, I can adapt the level of exercise needed. I believe walks are also important to allow your pet to explore and smell the world. You pet will have my full attention. I will maintain your pets schedule and feeding demands. I can also aid with general obedience training, so if you have a puppy that needs some extra training, I am willing to help.
