Pet care experience
I have been taking care of animals since I was very young. My family had lizards, hamsters guinea pigs, 6 cats and 2 dogs. I have pet sit since I was 8 when I would watch movies and sleep on the couch with my neighbors elderly dog while she was out of town. I have watched dogs, cata, goats, chickens, ducks and rabbits and most animals take to me well.

I have a house to myself which is easy to dog proof. All hardwood floors so it’s easy to clean. I have a large yard but it is not fully fenced in so I would prefer to take unfamiliar dogs on leashed walks around the neighborhood and nearby Briones Regional Park. I tend to offer dogs lots of walking opportunities and I enjoy snuggles if they are up for it, too. I’m happy with whatever boundary the dog owner sets around dogs being allowed on furniture. I am looking for an apprenticeship with a dog trainer while I do this work.

A typical day
I take dogs on lots of walks! We enjoy nature areas, some minor training (with consent from dog owner) and lots of cuddle times. If dogs like fetch I love throwing a ball / frisbee. I enjoy writing and reading and experiencing the world and have the most fun with dogs who like an even mix of adventure and relaxation.

Availability
I work trade for my rent and like to grow and gather a lot of my food (hoping to learn to do this better). I do small carpentry jobs and part time work on a saw mill in El Sobrante. I have a lot of free time, especially during the day.
