Pet care experience
I grew up on a farm and I've taken care of pets and farm animals all my life. I am comfortable administering medications (pills) but I do not have experience with injections. I live in University Heights. I have one dog, Gertie (Gertrude). She was rescued from a puppy-mill 8 years ago. She's a 9-year-old Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix. She is the light of my life!

Crystal was in good communication with me throughout our time away. She clearly did a great job with our dog because he seemed so happy when we returned.
Crystal loves dogs. She has been well trained by our Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix to be up before dawn, to organize her day around pee breaks, and to hike that extra mile. She has been taught to look for quality treats and to scratch that itchy spot right under the ears. She knows the right kind of boots to protect delicate paws from harsh Iowa winters and harsher sidewalk salt while not making a small dog feel like she’s wearing moon boots.
I would recommend Crystal as a dog sitter because dogs make her happier than anything in the world. Crystal is highly attentive to her dog's needs and well-being. As a person, Crystal is reliable and good at communicating.

I am reliable and responsible. For in-home care and walking, I would prefer a pre-visit to meet your pup. We can go over feeding and walking schedules, where keys and locks are located, and emergency procedures. I text pictures of your pup, if requested, each time I arrive to feed/water/walk. I can even bring in your newspaper and mail if you are gone for the weekend.

I would like to know a dog's general temperment, especially regarding other dogs, children, men, strangers, bicycles (things you typically encounter on a walk) so I can ensure your pup's safety as well as the safety of other dogs/humans. I would also like to know food/treat/water instructions as well as preferred routine or walking routes. This also includes any separation anxiety concerns and the best way to calm your pup.
A typical day
I live 6 blocks from Willow Creek Park, known for great trails and lots of trees. Weather permitting, your dog would enjoy a walk to the park or if your dog prefers a shorter, less strenuous stroll, a walk down the sidewalks near our home. Depending on your pups preference, I am comfortable sitting on the couch and giving cuddles or playing with their favorite toy.

I am a part-time nursing unit clerk at UIHC, with a flexible schedule. I usually work two days a week, 2nd shift, 6 hour shifts. Other than a few medical appointments, my schedule is fairly open.
