mindful & fun + trustworthy & tidy

Pet care experience

I provide bespoke care for young and old puppies and kitties. I'm all about reducing the stress of travel and separation for your fur-kids, and for you, so I try to stick to each pet's usual routine for meals, potty, walks, playtime and bedtime, while keeping your home safe, fresh and tidy for your return. I communicate daily with photos, or as often as you'd like. I'm happy to accommodate every pet's quirks (and yours)! I'm attuned to attention and activity needs as well as body language and behaviors, so I notice stress, fear, pain, or aggression; and I look for playfulness, curiosity, trust, and contentment :) I frequently care for pets with special needs, including reactivity, noise sensitivity, allergies, medication regimens, special food prep, resource guarding, slow eaters, scarf-n-barfers, mobility issues, and more Home care includes watering plants, inside and out, bringing in mail & packages, taking out trash, recycling etc, and dealing with whatever comes up. This is for overnight housesitting but almost all of the above applies to drop-in visits (for cats or smaller animals) when you're out of town as well. 🐶😺🐶😺😺🐶😺🐶😺🐶😺🐶😺🐶😺 See below or Details tab or more (TMI)

Per usual, Cris is the best! We can count on her to take the best care of our kitties. Changing water filters, brushing them, giving them treats and even changing batteries of our carbon monoxide detector while were away!

Having Chris petsit for Brooklynn was my first time using Rover and it could not have gone better!! She was on time, sent consistent updates, took Brooklynn on lots of walks, and left my house cleaner than it was before I left. I was able to completely not worry about Brooklynn while I was on vacation and it was such a relief. I highly recommend Chris!

As always, Cris was amazing and took incredible care of our girls. We couldn’t ask for a better pet sitter.

I'll ask to meet your pet before booking an overnight stay. After we meet I'll send a booking request, and unless it's close to the date of the sit, you'll have time to confirm. No pressure from me until I get other requests for those dates.

Information Cris C. would like to know about your pet

★I love getting printed care info and instructions! Putting the info in a message or here in your pet's Rover profile works too, but paper is my favorite ★Need to know Approximate meal times and how much food. Approximate out times. Any injuries, allergies, limitations, fears or quirks. Words and names you use to call your pup, and commands they understand E.g. "Walter comes to Wally or Smally. He understands Go to Bed, Outside, Drop it, and we're working on Off for jumping on strangers" Also Wifi password, time zone you're in, what time you expect to be back, and anything that is broken or off-limits as far as appliances. ★Nice to know: Habits, tricks, treats, toys. If you don't have a yard, length of time and route suggestions for walks (and if your dog is particular about pooping- their fave spot for that!) No worries tho. If I have questions while you're gone, I will ask. And likewise please message me any time there's something you forgot to tell me or anything else that comes up. I'll be in touch daily, or as you prefer. MORE ABOUT HOUSE-SITTING I will sleep at your home, in the bed of your choice. I will want to use your kitchen, wifi, and maybe laundry if I'm there more than a few days. I won't have guests over. I might shower there, or at home. I won't open doors, closets, drawers, desks beyond what might be reasonably expected, such as where I might find kitchen/cleaning/pet supplies. I respect privacy and expect the same so I will unplug or turn around your indoor cameras including pet-cams while I'm there. Please disclose them when we meet so it's not awkward. :) EVEN MORE RANDOM INFO ★If your home needs keys for entry I will only come get them once. Ok honestly probably twice, I'm not that strict lol but if we keep working together please get a lockbox. Ideally with **two** sets of keys. One set for me to use while you're gone and one spare set in the box just in case something happens to me or the keys I'm holding. ★I should mention that I usually get around on two wheels, even in winter. I have a license but I'm car-free! ★I won't cancel on you after bookings are confirmed. I book on a first come, first served basis. My regulars know I won't cancel on them, or for them. ★Fwiw I do have outside clients as well but admin and payment is much smoother through Rover. To me that's worth the 20% cut they take from my posted rate. Please don't ask me to go off-app! ★I'm soo grateful for all wonderful folks and their fur-families I've met since joining Rover in 2018. I can't believe it's been so long. I truly love doing this and feel so lucky!! ★The Star Sitter designation, in case you're curious (and in my defense?), is new since fall 2023. There's a metric I don't meet which is a certain ratio of requests to bookings. People newer to the platform surpass me given that they may get fewer requests than I do and/or book most of them. Whatever. I'm still taking new clients whenever I can!

A typical day

I base my engagement on what you've told me as well as your pet's body language and behavior. Dogs I'm sitting for get a minimum of 30 mins of walking and/or playing per day, unless they won't or can't.

I don't do drop-in visits before 11am. No extra charge for evening or night visits! Start times for housesits before 9am incur an additional $30 charge. FOR CATS: I'm happy to book once-daily drop-in visits when you're gone, but also willing to stay overnight with them. If your cat requires more than one visit please request housesitting or try another sitter. I don't visit the same place twice a day unless I'm sleeping there. When I'm house-sitting I'll be at your home with your pet/s almost all day, every day. In most cases I end up spending more time with them than their people normally do!
