Dog lover w/15 years of experience!

Pet care experience

I am 100% a "dog person" and have been taking care of dogs alone since I was in high school. I have ample experience with walking & feeding, administering medication, and basic training. I also love to take long walks or hikes, play, or simply give attention. I recently lost my my own dog and best friend, Koda, to cancer after 11.5 years of life together. He was a Siberian Husky mix and was always (even up until a month before he passed) a high-energy dog. So I am also well-versed in caring for dogs with lots of energy and making sure they get their exercise needs met! I am comfortable and experienced with senior dogs as well as puppies, and even large dogs are no problem. If you have any questions for me or want to learn more about me and my style of pet care, feel free to reach out! I want you to feel reassured that your dog is in great hands when he or she is with me.

Courtnie truly has a passion for dogs. When I met her, all she could talk about was her unbreakable bond with her late dog, Koda. Every decision she made revolved around his health, happiness, and safety. When it comes to responsibility and trustworthiness, Courtnie is the gold standard. Your dog's safety, happiness, and well-being are her top priorities, not just checkboxes on a to-do list. What sets Courtnie apart is her deep love for animals. For her, this isn't just a way to make money for her; it's a heartfelt commitment to providing the best care possible. Count on her to follow your instructions to the letter, from specific walking routes to dietary preferences and medication schedules. Your furry friend will be in capable hands, receiving the attention and care they deserve. For a caregiver who treats your dog like family, she's the go-to choice.

Genuine, Kind, Responsible, and Trustworthy are a few words to describe Courtnie. After over 20 years of friendship, I can attest to her loyalty. I was there when she brought her precious Koda home and over the next 11 years diligently and passionately cared for him. I was present during many adventurous walks with that four legged boy and Courtnie was always prepared. She was always aware of the surroundings and of other people and their pets, in order to keep Koda safe. Aside from being the best dog mom to Koda, there was many times I needed someone to look after my own sweet hound, Daisy. Courtnie was punctual in bathroom breaks, feeding times, and walks. You will find no one as invested in caring for your dog and ensuring that every encounter is pleasant and tailored to your animals specific needs. Courtnie is truly one in a million!

Courtnie had walked my dog for several months while I had a short part time job. Alona was an Am Staff and could be easily excited when she saw another dog. I always felt confident that Courtnie was paying close attention to any other dogs in the area. Alona always got so excited when she saw Courtnie. She knew that she was getting to go for a walk. Courtnie is very responsible and dependent. I am very picky with whom I trust with my dogs. With Courtnie I always felt at ease.

I am responsible, punctual, and an excellent communicator. I will treat your pet as if they were my own, and I will follow any rules or requests concerning my time with them. I am understanding of dogs' specific, individualized needs and preferences, and I will honor them completely. I don’t mind “rules” or info sheets on how to best take care of your pet. My ultimate goal is for you and your pet to be as comfortable and happy as possible! If you have a reactive or anxious dog, please be assured that they will be in experienced hands with me. My own dog, Koda, was also very anxious and could get triggered by specific things on our outings, particularly other dogs. Together, we learned how to lessen or avoid these fears and make walks more enjoyable and safe. If your dog is anxious or reactive around other dogs (or garbage trucks, cars, loud noises, etc.), don’t be afraid to reach out to me! I have a special spot in my heart for these dogs and would love to make sure your own boy or girl got a safe, enjoyable walking experience.

Information Courtnie R. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has any special needs or if there is anything about their behavior I should know ahead of time. I am very used to working with dogs with a variety of special health and social/emotional needs, and I will be sure to provide your dog with the care he or she needs during our time together.

A typical day

I love to take dogs to local parks or in their own neighborhoods for walks. I am sure to provide them with plenty of time to sniff during the walk, as I know that mental stimulation is just as important for dogs as physical exercise. I also love to go hiking, so if you have any favorite spots near your home that you know your dog loves, let me know! For older dogs or lower-energy pups, I am always happy to engage in calmer play or simply give some social interaction.
