Pet care experience
Background about me: I began dog-walking my neighbors dog everyday after school when I was 12 years old, and have been pet-sitting ever since. I have worked in a professional dog-boarding and daycare facility before, but primarily have years of experience with daily visits, overnight care, dogs with medical needs, and house sitting with dogs in their own home and mine. As a graduate from UVM with a Bachelors in Animal and Veterinary Sciences, my resume includes completed courses in understanding the language and behavior of dogs, as well as health and nutrition courses catering specifically towards the care of companion animals. When I am not taking care of animals through my personal sitting/walking business, I am working as an ER nurse at a 24/7 Emergency Veterinary Hospital. I am confident and comfortable administering medications and looking after older or sicker dogs and cats with a range of medical needs and disabilities. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and am most fulfilled spending my days making animals happy. The past couple of years I have been educating myself and working on dog training techniques that help me to be the best caregiver I can be. This includes being polite in the house and while greeting others, as well as manners and good behavior both on and off the leash. As much as I love to have fun with my furry guests and go out on adventures, their safety is my first priority. I am the kind of person that can't sit comfortably knowing there's a dog in the room with me that hasn't been exercised, so when I have dogs stay with me I really like to be active and show them a great time, this way they have a positive experience while away from their family. I like to bring dogs for long walks in the woods, to the beach to run around, and whatever activities make them most happy. I am well experienced and enthusiastic about dedicating my life towards the care and compassion of all animals and would love to be of help with any dog sitting or walking needs!
Reviews
We absolutely love Courtney! Kona always comes back well cared for and loved— we get bummed when she’s not available because we trust her care so much! Highly recommend!!
Kona always comes home happy and tired! We love Courtney’s updates on how the weekend is going and appreciate how she loves our pup like her own! Courtney is absolutely amazing!
Courtney takes Chili on the long countryside romps he needs, so I always come home to a relaxed and happy boy.
Courtney gave Chili some great outings and romps these past several weeks when we've had several extra-long days at work.

Information Courtney T. would like to know about your pet
I like to know my guests routine, if they are dog-friendly, have any vices I should be aware of, how they behave on vs. off leash, any allergies, favorite treats and toys, how long they're used to being left alone for, if they have a happy safe space (crate, car, certain dog bed, etc.)
A typical day
My favorite thing to do with dogs I care for is go for walks on wooded trails. A couple of my favorites include the Intervale Hub, Five Tree Natural Area in Williston, Ethan Allen Homestead, Sunny Hollow and Milton Pond. Back at home, I like to make sure to have a fresh marrow bone or peanut butter filled Kong ready, so there’s always an opportunity for mental stimulation and keeping busy, even after we’re done exercising for the day.
