Hi, I’m Courtney! I grew up in Hawaii with my family dog, a pomapoochi (Pomeranian, poodle, and chihuahua mix) named Ollie and have over 15 years of experience caring and looking after dogs. I have a maltipoo puppy named Pebbles (on Instagram @lilredmaltipoo) who is friendly and eager to meet and play with other dogs. However, if you prefer to not have your dog be walked or play with Pebbles, I certainly understand and I can accommodate that request! I'm currently a dog walker for a family in my building and am excited to offer additional care for other dogs in the area. I'm located in Kips Bay right near all the hospitals so many of the dogs I care for have owners who work at one of the various NYU hospitals (Tisch, Kimmel, Langone), Bellevue, VA, etc. It's especially convenient for those who may work at NYU hospitals and are in need of doggy day care. You can simply drop off your dog in the morning and pick them up at the end of your shift as I live right about Tisch Hospital! I have experience with leash training and am versed in basic dog commands (sit, stay, drop it, down, etc). I’m an Assistant Professor at Tufts University during the academic year but am currently in NYC with my husband for the summer break. My husband is a physician resident at NYU hospital and also loves dogs. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have. I look forward to meeting and working with you!

Courtney was such a great sitter for Avicii! My dog was a bit stressed from me leaving her, but Courtney was able to manage while I was at work. She was very quick with communication throughout the day and sent so many cute pictures. She played with Avicii and took her on several walks.

While my building doesn't have a yard, the apartment building across the street (which I have access to) has an enclosed garden terrace that I'll often take the dogs I care for to play, run, and meet other dogs (with your permission) so they can get some sunshine and exercise. Throughout their time with me, I'll be sure to take photos (my camera roll is 99% dog photos at this point!) and share them with you so you can see how we spend our time together.

I’d be interested to know if they’re leash trained, what commands they know/respond to, if they have any medical issues I should be aware of and how to take care of them, and what their emergency vet information is.
A typical day
We'll definitely go for many walks either on the East River parkway or other nearby parks. While my building doesn't have a yard, the apartment building across the street (which I have access to) has an enclosed garden terrace that I'll often take the dogs I care for to play, run, and meet other dogs (with your permission) so they can get some sunshine and exercise. Throughout their time with me, I'll be sure to take photos (my camera roll is 99% dog photos at this point!) and share them with you so you can see how we spend our time together. I also love playing fetch. We’ll also make time for some quality R&R—cuddling on the couch!

Availability
My schedule is very flexible as I'm home all day so can devote ample time and attention to your dog. I have experience with and am especially interested in caring for puppies or other small dogs. Given the flexibility of my work (I'm reading, writing, and researching all day), I'm especially able to devote personalized and thoughtful time and attention to playing, caring, walking, and feeding puppies that might require extra time and attention. I'm happy to coordinate additional feeding times, work on training behavior, and take them out for walks every 2 hours (or more often if needed). My apartment has also been thoroughly puppy-proofed.
