Pet care experience
Welcome to Ruby’s house! We’ve had Ruby since she was 8 weeks old (bday 6/25/2008). She’s had a pretty exciting life so far - she’s lived in 3 different states coast to coast (IA, CA, VA) and enjoys traveling wherever our journey is taking us. She’s part of our family, and any dog that comes into our house is treated like our own.
Ruby may be one of the happiest and friendliest dogs you’ll ever meet. She is an older lady who typically prefers a slower pace, but is open to a little excitement in her life when her friends (people and pup pals) come to visit. For her comfort, we prefer there be a limit of one puppy at a time, but are willing to discuss specifics to see if we can make things work. She’s also fixed and up to date on her shots. My husband and I both work M-F, but due to COVID, I am now working from home 90% of the time. We are able to take up to 3 dogs from one family at a time for boarding or daycare services. In the rare cases where pick up and drop off times overlap with other families, the dogs will be kept separate for safety purposes. My husband is an Army Veteran, so Active Duty and Retired Military get a $5 daily discount. Please let us know prior to setting up meet and greet. Thank you for your service! Any stays where drop off and pickup times are 7 or more hours (ex: drop off at 10am, pick up at 5pm) an extra 1/2 day will be charged.
Reviews
Charlie had a great time hanging with Ruby and her humans. Updates were regular and Charlie appeared happy and acting like Charlie.
Courtney is amazing! So grateful she and Dave and Ruby were able to watch our sweet (anxious) old boy, because it was obvious he was happy, cared for and occupied the whole visit. Love them, and would definitely recommend!
Our go to sitter!!
Courtney was the best, she treated my doggies as if they were hers. They felt at home and made themselves very comfortable and got along great with Rubie!!!!

We treat all pets like they’re family, whether that’s at our home or theirs. They will be spoiled with love, attention, treats, etc. And if they’re at our place, lots of comfy places to relax! We have references for both services and are happy to share them, so just ask!

These answers do not automatically disqualify your dogs from hanging out with us. We just want to know how to best support them! So please answer honestly. -Are your dogs up to date on their shots? If not, why? -Do your dogs get along with other dogs? -Has your dog ever been aggressive? If so, explain. -How old is your dog? -Size and breed of dog? -Male/female? -Are they house broken (potty trained)? -If male, will they mark their territory inside? -Do they need to be kenneled if left alone? -Do they have any bad habits? Getting into trash? Counter thieves? Chewing furniture/clothes/shoes/etc? -Any medical issues/concerns? Any medications? -What are their feeding routines?
A typical day
We live in a nice quiet neighborhood that we can go for walks in the evening, and we have a large fenced in yard that we can toss a ball, frisbee, or play other games. We also have a large assortment of inside toys that Ruby loves to share! When we aren’t busy, we love to relax and cuddle on the couch.

Availability
IN MY HOME: I currently work from home 90% of the time and have an open door policy where the dogs are welcome to hang with me in my office. I am available to tend to their needs and let them out throughout the day as needed. My husband works rotating days, but is able to help with pet care in the mornings, evenings, and weekends. IN YOUR HOME: Most days I am able to be flexible with my work, so I am able to do drop-in visits almost any time of the day.
