Strive for the best care possible

Pet care experience

I love taking care of all animals. I grew up in a family that considered our animals part of the family. I regularly grew up with 3 dogs at a time and have since added a cockatiel, two bearded dragons and a cat to the mix. Along with a bunch of hermit crabs, fish, crayfish and even once a snake. I always try to offer the best care available and treat other people's animals like they are a loved part of my own personal family. Some of my friends say I treat my current bearded dragon too much like a human family member, but I say that's fine since he's happy, healthy and never bored just like my dogs are. My dogs are still obedient and trained to do all the typical tricks (sit, stay, lay down, come, no, drop it) and one is even comfortable enough to roll over. I love helping owners teach new tricks if they need help, and all my dogs are house trained. They go to the door when they want to go out, which is rather easy to teach and I usually offer to help with that too if the owner requests so.

Being an 80 year old man with three dogs has their challenges. My son helping me install a few cameras around the house helped some but finding a good dog sitter like Courtney when I leave for my hospital treatments was the best thing I have found. Terry the rescue terrier and Sasha his much larger lab sister were my first two dogs my son got me when I had to move to keep his old man company. These two were inseparable and after they both escaped my house was how I met Courtney. I live down the street from her and she has watched my now three dogs numerous times. Terry is a special man who needs daily meds and extra care when it comes to bathroom breaks and severe storms. Courtney even bought me a Thundershirt for Terry during one of her stays to see if that would help him better and make things easier on me. When I took in a stray three legged dog Cookir who had taken a shining to Terry and Sasha, Courtney was my go-to to help introduce them all safely. She has watched all three of them 7 different times now. The latest being a week long last month when I was admitted to the hospital due to my chronic illness growing worse. I'm reviewing her now only because I saw her business cards at the post office yesterday and thought I would check out the website. Courtney is a truly talented dog sitter who willingly works with you to make sure the dogs are safe and you can take care of them as best as possible. Especially if you are old and starting to slow down like me haha. I consider myself to be a fairly active old man but my treatments for my chronic illness have started to become more frequent so I have been relying on her more and more. I will be checking out this website more to see if I can figure out how to book her here, but otherwise I will certainly be continuing her services privately in person. This is a very interesting website and I highly recommend contacting this sweet girl if you need someone to watch your animals. I see on her profile she does cats and birds as well, which I have no doubt she cares for just as well as she has my three dogs.

Never again. Courtney should not be allowed on this site. She lied about coming and left my dogs alone for 20 hours!! Thankfully my in laws were able to drive 45 mins to let them out, feed them and give them their meds. When confronted she continued to lie. We have video cameras which I would suggest people get. It was the only way we would have ever figured it out. She was great to meet in person and I felt comfortable at first but very quickly realized she was scamming us. Please rethink before booking with her! Thankfully though rover refunded me the money and is investigating!

Courtney is a great dog sitter. She was incredibly easy to get in contact with and I contacted her on short notice and really appreciated how fast she was able to meet my dog and get everything figured out. She was good at updating me while I was away including pictures. She was also very understanding that I had recently moved and my place was in shambles from unpacking. Will definitely be asking for her help in the future

Courtney was wonderful. There was a thunderstorm one day so we asked her to spend a little extra time with Keebler. She sent photos to us keeping us updated. We will definitely use her again.

Information Courtney M. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if the dog or other animals are dog/pet friendly. Any fears, strange quirks, if they hate cats, tend to be aggressive with strangers, or anything else that you would think is important to know I would love to know as well. If the dog is a flight risk (meaning I cannot let the dog outside without a leash- please also specify if that is needed for the bathroom too) that may run away, I do need to know that. The last thing I want is anyone's animal to run away ever.

A typical day

I will go on walks usually in the surrounding area. If there is a park nearby, and the owner is ok with it, I will allow the dogs to go to the park too. Off leash might also be a thing if the owner says that's alright as I love to let my own dogs run free in an enclosed area (like a baseball field with a fence) at the park to get extra exercise. If they meet other dogs along the way, that can also be a source of enrichment for both dogs and owners.
