Pet care experience
As a lifelong dog owner and experienced animal care professional, I count myself lucky to spend both my free time and my working hours caring for animals. I am certified as a Fear Free Animal Handler and have received consistent 5-star reviews while handling separation anxiety, blindness, aggression, past abuse, prolapsed colon, and surgery recovery. I have experience administering topical and oral medication, physical therapy, and insulin injections. I have been formally trained in canine Aggression, Body Language, Safe Handling, Training, and Enrichment Programs. I recently received my Master’s in Zoology at UW and now work as an Ecologist with the Forest Service. Before that, I worked as the lab manager of a dog cognition lab, where we enacted non-invasive, observational experiments to learn more about the canine psyche. I also formerly worked as a Canine Caregiver at an ASPCA center for abused and neglected dogs, where I executed both veterinary and behavioral rehabilitation. In my free time, I have volunteered as a Wildlife Rehabilitator at the Wild Bird Fund, completed a technician assistant internship at a veterinary clinic, volunteered at a mountain lion sanctuary, and worked to rescue/rehabilitate/release marine mammals in California. I also completed a thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail in 2019 while conducting biodiversity research with a team of scientists. I had dog companions throughout my childhood (a Boxer, Rat Terrier, and Lab). I am sadly not currently a dog parent due to my student schedule and spending too much time with other people's dog to have my own. This is why I truly consider it a win-win to be able to provide you with pet care; you are able to enjoy your time away without worry, and I get to fill my days spending time with dogs. Dogs and I share many of the same favorite things. With or without canine company, I love taking long walks, going to the park, and goofing around with a ball. I'll never turn down a dog cuddle and have endless affection to dole out. As an owner, you will appreciate my reliability and professionalism, the peace of mind and plentiful updates you will enjoy while you’re gone, and the happy dog and clean house you will find upon returning home. I hope to meet you and your pet(s) soon!
Reviews
Courtney was a fantastic house sitter for a weekend while we were away. She communicated well, sent updates and pictures, took good care of the house, and our pets obviously received wonderful, loving care. We'd definitely book again! Thank you, Courtney!
Courtney was wonderful with our boy!
Courtney was quick to connect with our four pets and provided us with daily updates through pictures and messages while we were away. We are grateful for the care Courtney showed our fur babies and home.
Thank you for taking such good care of our boys! They were happy and healthy when we got home. ☺️

Information Courtney G. would like to know about your pet
Triggers, allergies, likes/dislikes, medical history, how often they need to go out, discipline methods, favorite games, exercise routine, and any other owner preferences on how they like their pet to be taken care of! I have no breed preferences
A typical day
I prefer pet sitting in the owner’s apartment, mostly as it is less adjustment for your pet to deal with. I’m happy to keep up your routine of their favorite activities!

Availability
I currently work as an ecologist with the Forest Service - my schedule has a little flexibility but is mostly traditional office hours. It is easier to work remotely on Fridays.
