30+ yrs dog experience

Pet care experience

Life long dog-owner and horse-person, my very first job at age 12 was bathing dogs at a pet store and grooming shop, and spent several years in the veterinary industry. Been charged with the care of everything from 3# Yorkies to Clydesdales over the years, and great at adapting to the needs and quirks of the individual. My pup Parker and and I love company, and would be thrilled to have your pup come visit! I'm in sales, so I'm home most of the the day (in the field/away a few hours a day most days, rarely more than 4-5). Will treat your dog like part of the family, with run of the house as long as everyone behaves. My home DOES have stairs to get to the back yard and bedrooms, and it’s a townhouse, so not huge and neighbors are close. I might not be a fit if your pet has mobility issues, is super high energy and needs LOTS of room to play, and/or is very ‘barky’. Capable of attending to special needs (meds, diets, etc), just drop me a line to discuss. Prefer to have you bring your pet's food to avoid any tummy issues.

Courtney took great care of Nox while we on vacation. Nox had a few issues, but Courtney worked hard to help her over come them. Thank you

Courtney was a phenomenal dog sitter. She kept me updated on my dogs time with her and made me feel at ease leaving my dog for each weekend she watched her. Laguna came back very happy following her stay with Courtney and Parker! We will definitely use Courtney whenever we need a dog sitter again!

Courtney took great care of Roxy for the 6 days we were in Las Vegas for a conference. She made our trip worry free because she sent us updates and pictures of Roxy on a regular basis. We will definitely rely on Courtney again if we need to leave Roxy with someone who will take good care of her.

I live in a townhouse and have a small fenced yard. As long as they ‘play well with others’ everyone has run of the house. I crate guest-dogs when I’m away from the house and (case-by-case) overnight.

Home

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 4-8 hours

Information Courtney C. would like to know about your pet

Prefer to chat before hand to get your impressions of how your dog interacts with others. I DO CRATE EVERYONE WHEN I’M AWAY FROM THE HOUSE JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE, SO ALL DOGS MUST BE CRATE TRAINED. (One 42”, one 36”, and one 27” crate on hand available on a ‘first reserved’ basis.) All dogs must be housebroken - I do not accept dogs that are trained to use ‘pee pads’. (My experience is that they might be good using them at home, but don’t use them consistently when they are in a strange place.) Before a first stay I do require a 'meet and greet' introduction so you can see my home and I can get a feel for your dog’s personality. (I’m very mindful of matching size/energy level when I have multiple dogs overlapping stays.) Pickup/Drip Off service is subject to scheduling and listed price is minimum, usu within a 5 mile radius of 21244. Please contact me to discuss before booking.

A typical day

The dogs usually wrestle and play so much that they get plenty exercise even when we just stay home! Weather permitting, we sometimes go up to the Patapsco area trails. If your dog needs lots of walks, however, is too big/unruly on-leash to be walked with other dogs, or will only go to the bathroom when being walked, I don’t think I’m a good fit.
