I've been taking care of dogs for over 20 years! I have experience training puppies (my own and foster puppies) and feel comfortable taking care of both younger and older dogs. My family has a 5 year old miniature golden doodle that I trained while living at home. I also have extensive experience caring for other friends' dogs (in my home or their home) while they are on vacation. Now that I am in medical school, I am looking forward to taking care of dogs in Roanoke! I'm a current medical student living in a one bedroom apartment near the school. I have a busy schedule during the day (typically at school around 9AM or 10AM, break for lunch 12PM-1PM, return home around 4PM) although I typically study at home in the evenings / on the weekends. I am happy to have your dog live comfortably in my home or at your home. I believe that routine and consistency are important when taking care of dogs, so I will strive to keep your dog's time with me as similar to normal as possible (eating dinner at X time, sleeping in the crate, etc.) I feel comfortable taking dogs for long walks, letting them on furniture (if their owner allows), playing tug-of-war / fetch, keeping them in the crate, etc.
