High Standard Pet Care

Pet care experience

Thank you for reading my profile. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. My family and I are all fully vaccinated and I'm available to care for your pets! **LGBTQ+ friendly/safe **BIPOC friendly/safe **I am not currently accepting recurring walks.** I am a mature, responsible, trustworthy and professional woman. My home consists of me and my partner Paul and our three teenagers. We recently welcomed 2 new furbabies into our family. Frankie is a 2 year old, 80 lb, boxer/bully mix. (DOB 1/2021). Eddie is a 1 year old (DOB 1/2022). Both pets are dog friendly. I am an established personal trainer in Boston with over 12 years of experience. Before becoming a personal trainer I accrued many years as a social worker servicing adolescent girls. I also do some photography on the side and would love to get more into pet photography. I grew up in a house with lots of pets. We always took in the strays including turtles and an iguana. We love all animals and treat them with the same respect as a human. Through dog walking and boarding I have worked with many different types of dogs: all breeds, sizes and personalities. I approach all dogs calmly and patiently and let them choose me. We take a lot of pride in the training we have provided for our own pets and set clear and consistent expectations for all dogs in my care. I approach every animal with a positive, gentle attitude and believe in positive reinforcement with all training. With over 20 years of professional working experience, you can count on my professionalism, good communication and timeliness. I believe it’s important to communicate even the smallest details. Our apartment is second and third floor and allows me to keep the dogs separated if necessary while boarding more than one. Dogs are introduced slowly and are kept separate until they are comfortable being together but are always supervised while interacting. Additionally, feeding times are always separate to avoid any conflict. If I do not feel I can safely manage a dog/s, I will not board the dog. I require a questionnaire to be filled out for every dog I board. This allows me to prepare for all possible scenarios and provide the best care possible. Because we have downstairs neighbors, we unfortunately cannot board dogs with excessive barking. Frankie is still learning appropriate leash manners and is not currently able to meet dogs on a leash or before boarding due to his excessive excitement. He is friendly with all dogs and is very respectful of cues after proper intros. I am happy to provide photos of him with our guests. Eddie (the cat) is very dog savvy but is also crate trained and separated from most dog guests. My services also include care for cats and other family pets that may not be able to travel with you. I’ve worked with both cats and dogs with special needs and am able to provide pills, injections and other necessary medications with specific instruction. Thank you for considering me to care of your precious babies. I currently work part time in Boston. My availability varies day to day making it difficult to sometimes provide long term boarding but please reach out and ask. I have a lot of flexibilty and can make exceptions for dogs I know or have boarded in the past. I live in a very dog friendly neighborhood with lots of walking space. My apartment allows for me to keep dogs separate. I have a small fenced in backyard and three teenagers who help out and love dog guests in their bedrooms. Escape artists and high flight risks ALWAYS stay leashed when outside the apartment even in the yard. MEET & GREETS: We do not do meet and greets in my home for a couple of reasons but happy to meet outside, across the street at the park, or at your home. In order to keep my family safe we do not allow strangers in the home. Also, meet and greets in a stranger's home can create a lot of anxiety which your dog will pick up on. We also don't want to get the dogs in the house overly excited with an unfamiliar guest. I am happy to provide photos, videos and/or facetime so you feel comfortable seeing where your dog is staying.

Correen was wonderful! My kitties were extremely well attended to and got all the love and attention they needed during my travels. As an added bonus, Correen is an amazing photographer and her photos of my babies were fantastic. I'd gladly hire her again.

Correen was so attentive to our two kittens during our recent vacation and helped us feel so at ease knowing they were getting cared for so thoroughly. She provided such thoughtful and detailed updates during each drop in visit and included frequent photos and fun tidbits of her visits. We could tell she was giving them both the time and attention anyone would want for their pets while they are away. Could not recommend her services more! Thanks again Correen!

We live in an apartment on the second and third floor in downtown Salem. Dogs must be able to go up and down the stairs or be small and comfortable enough to be carried. Also note, that because we are downtown, it can be loud and busy. If dogs are stimulated by traffic, sirens and noises outside our home may not be a good fit. I have guest crates, toys and treats and the teens are often happy to host guests in thier bedrooms at night so pups don't get lonely. When visiting a client's house, I am always respectful of property and patient with pets. CAT CARE- I feed cats, clean dishes, scoop litter and clean up any messes the cats may have kindly left behind. If the cat is interested, I will pet, hang out and play with the cat. I send written updates and photos for each visit.

Information Correen (she/her) D. would like to know about your pet

I’m happy to work with all breeds and sizes of dogs, cats and other pets. Before boarding a dog I have a questionnaire I send to the owner to make sure I have ALL information on a dog. Even the smallest details are important when a dog is staying in a new unfamiliar place. My main goal is to keep our guest safe and comfortable while they are away from home. Helpful initial info includes: Age Breed Are they able to be left alone and for how long? Are they crate trained? Do they get along with other dogs? Do they bark? Do they eat or destroy anything inappropriate? Any special needs.

A typical day

I try to meet the dog where he/she is. If they want to chill and cuddle, I’m a pretty good cuddler. I am down for long walks and jogs and will always provide play time. We live in downtown and next to the common so there are plenty of places to walk You can pretty much count on an amazing photo shoot too! *please note I will not take dogs I don’t know to the dog park.*
