I have 3 hardheaded but well mannered female chihuahuas. They are all spayed, and are couch potatoes. I’ve had dogs all my life, and look at them as children. I grew up with wolfspitz, labs, jack russels, Australian Shepard, Irish wolf hound, yorkies, welsh corgis, shih tzus, dauschhounds, etc. The dogs I have are rescues that were traumatized from abuse. So, I know how to work with dogs that have some trust issues. I have a two story home, but I do use a baby gate. So, they will only be allowed on the first floor. I allow pets on my furniture, unless you don’t want them to be taught that. I don’t mind teaching tricks, or teaching obedience. I do not do physical obedience and I also try not to use the word “no.” I say “ah ah” instead, and snap my fingers to get their attention if they are up to no good.
