Pet care experience
I worked with Zoo animals specifically gorillas & chimpanzees for a number of years and have an advanced degree in Animal behavior. Aside from that I offered a pet sitting service while pursuing my Master's Degree. I quickly gained a reputation for giving small elderly dogs the best "snuggles and lap loves" in my geographical area of Northeast TN. I particularly enjoy elderly dogs because of the extra special attention they require while their owner is at work or away for the day. My dog lived to be 17 yrs. old and I became very familiar with the special needs of aging pets. Elderly dogs often have arthritis and enjoy the benefits of light massage for their aches & pains. Also gentle brush stroking is beneficial for comfort as well. I offer tremendous amounts of praise to reward good behavior especially when aging dogs become agitated. My home is quiet and distraction free to allow your doggie naps as well as giving the opportunity for your pet to bond with me. As a pet sitter I am all about loving, petting, and offering a great amount of love for elderly dogs.

I have a questionnaire that I would like for the owner to fill out such as what special needs or requests they have for their pets. I would expect the owner to explain any medical issues/problems so that I may address them properly. I have a preference for small breeds of aging dogs that require one on one attention which is why I only sit 1 dog daily.
A typical day
As I have a preference for elderly dogs your dog will receive petting, light massage, brush stroking & lap sitting. Most elderly dogs enjoy a short walk about the property or being carried when they become tired from walking which is why I prefer smaller breeds of dogs. I have a large covered patio which can provide sunshine in the warmer months for those aches & pains. I have a very comfortable small sofa and will provide snuggle aromatic toys while you as the owner provide a favorite blanket or doggie bed. If your dog is feeling a bit frisky we will roll balls and play together with their favorite activities for stimulation.
