Flexible, dependable animal-lover
Pet care experience
I joined Rover in 2019 because I just love pets and animals, giving me an excuse to spend time with them! I’m originally from Canada and have just moved to the UK after finishing my postgrad degree. Back home, I’ve been providing pet sitting and dog walking services (on and off) for both dogs and cats alike. Prior to Rover, I had lived with and watched a large Golden during college and pet-sat/walked many of my friends’ dogs including a toy poodle, bichon frise, and sheepdog. I’ve also volunteered in a cat shelter for two years, attending to stray and feral cats to make them comfortable for adoption and taking care of their needs. Oftentimes many people comment on how good I am with dogs and cats, they can sense a confident and calm energy surrounding me and often feel comfortable in my presence. But don’t take it from me, request a meet and greet with me and decide for yourself! As your sitter or walker, I will always provide a reliable service, taking care to make sure your pets’ specific needs are met. I am flexible with times and schedules as I tend to stay at home and am free all days of the week.
Reviews
Connia was great with Sofia. After only a day Sofia was very attached and it’s the most relaxed she has been for a drive home. We’ve already booked to come back. Thanks, Connia!
Connia has been walking my 9 month old puppy Louie for a couple of weeks and she is wonderful! He isn’t the most cooperative walker but she manages to get him out for a full hour so that he’s a tired puppy for the rest of the afternoon. I completely trust her with him and would 10/10 recommend Connia to care for your fur baby!
If you're looking for a passionate and reliable dog caregiver, Connia is the perfect candidate for you. Her love for dogs can be seen through the numerous times that she has dog sat for friends and family. Dogs feel comfortable with Connia because she maintains a calm manner and interacts naturally with them. She consistently provides safe care by knowing how to respond to dogs' needs and wants and intuitively keeping them out of trouble. Owners would feel at ease working with Connia because she is responsible, organized and easy to contact.
Connia was an exceptional caretaker for my dog Biscuit! She was very attentive and patient with his needs, and and followed his walking and feeding routine diligently. I would highly recommend her as a responsible and caring caregiver for any pet!

Safety, trust & environment
Since I have a house with a fenced yard (see main cover photo!), I typically let new clients first explore and sniff around to understand where they are allowed on the lead (not on our pool cover in winters and not in the basement initially). Once that’s established they have free range! Our backyard fence is foolproof, tried and tested, to keep both small and large dogs safe, and our front and side doors both have a retractable screen door to prevent them from being wide open for those that are escape artists. Our house includes me and my parents so they’ll have that part-of-the-pack feeling away from home and your pet will never be left alone for more time than they require.

Information Connia R. would like to know about your pet
Please do let me know if your pet has ever been cared for before by someone and any differences in behaviour in a new environment! In particular, let me know if they’ve ever tried to bite/scratch/is reactive/aggressive, if they’ve ever tried to run out of the house, and if they have a tendency to mark/is not housetrained in new places! These aren’t necessarily dealbreakers for me but it would be great to know exactly what I’ll be expecting :) And as expected, make note of any known allergies or medical needs.
A typical day
We will start by getting a nice treat/lots of pets and scratches for doing so well adjusting to a new environment! If needed, sometime during the day we will go out through the backyard fence into the ravine just behind the house and take the small wooded trail that leads to the large park near my house. There, if they like, we can go to one of the biggest dog parks in the city and meet some new best friends or play hundreds of rounds of fetch/chase/catch! If your dog is high energy/active we can also explore the five different walking/ravine/hiking trails near my house including the Kayak trail along West Highland Creek and the Meadoway pedestrian road. And if not, we can spend time inside instead playing with puzzle toys, a game of tug-of-war, or cuddling and getting lots of belly rubs and neck/butt scratches.
