Pet health & safety is my specialty

Pet care experience

I have cared for animals since I was child, and have worked with them in professional settings for over 6 years. I have a basic understanding of animal cognition and specialize in dog behavior and communication. My experience ranges from husbandry of non-releasable wild animals to comprehensive dog training for various breeds and temperaments along with a wide array of training goals. I am knowledgeable about common ailments and injuries to dogs and know the appropriate response in urgent situations. I started working with dogs as a daycare attendant, was quickly promoted into boarding staff, and then as a full time dog trainer for an award winning training group. I then moved on to work with conservation detection dogs, training them to locate anything and work closely with me in wilderness settings.

Collette was amazing! She has a sincere and kind demeanour. She kept us informed throughout our dog's stay, and we've since been treated to a dog that now shakes for his treats. We highly recommend her and will surely use her again in the future. We can't thank her enough.

Plum has stayed with Collette twice and always has a great time. Collette takes the dogs on hikes and sends updates frequently. 10/10 Stars!

Collette was great with my senior dog and made her feel comfy being in a new environment with other dogs. She gave me updates and made sure my furbaby got her medication on time. Would def use her again in the future!!!

Safety, trust & environment

Health and safety is my primary focus. I have seen it all between my time working in boarding, daycare, training, and especially in the field with my detection dog. I am trained to recognize many ailments and know how to act accordingly. If your dog stays with me, they will always be leashed when outside but will have room to play and roam indoors with the option of a safe space (kennel) if they need a place to curl up and have just to themselves. My home is always checked for dog safety with all food or hazardous house items safely put away. Plus, I have a wonderful 7 year old dog who is great for socializing with others.
