Traveling? Ready to assist
Pet care experience
Hello. The world is offering the next great adventure. My home becomes your pets’ home as you get out there. My availability to assist is limited only by my boarding space, so let’s reserve those dates. 😊 (My fee.. Rover keeps 20% for invaluable networking, so to be fair to direct clients, my Rover rates are higher. Extended Care charges are fees based on time, the selected pick up/drop off, added by the site. We can modify those away to 0.00 after we set up a plan, schedule. 🥹) Many of my Rover clients become my private clients, lowering my “repeat” scoring. I have several private clients that can offer references/reviews upon request. If my availability doesn’t lend itself to your needs, please contact me. We can discuss the situation & go from there. I have some wiggle room. We have an adequate home with a fenced in yard, lots of room. I grew up on a farm, studied zoology at MSU, worked at a veterinary hospital for several years, assisting in the care of boarding/hospitalized/surgical guests there, caring for cats, dogs, exotic pets, farm animals in good times & the not so good. We (family) would love to care for your pet, house, farm while you’re away.
Reviews
This was a very positive experience!! We received daily updates about our dogs which was reassuring!! All the running in her yard was a great fit. It truly looked like our Golden was smiling for her photos. We also have a dog with medical concerns and felt very comfortable with Colleen’s experience & expertise. We will absolutely use her again!!
Colleen was awesome with our fur baby! This was a super easy drop off, we got to enjoy a Basketball game, easy pickup, Zeke slept all the way to our destination! We will definitely use Rover again- and Colleen if we’re driving through E Lansing! Thank you so much!
Colleen was such a blessing while I’ve been dog sitting for my parents! She was so kind and accommodating, and set up a meet and greet with me and my pup! I had complete confidence that my dog was in good care while I was at work. If you need a dog sitter, look no further…Colleen is the best:)
Our lab had a great stay, and Colleen provided regular updates and pictures. We especially appreciated the flexibility with drop-off and pick-up when our travel plans changed. If we weren't moving out of town, we'd absolutely return!

My young adult “children” (20 & 18) & I have a young dog, a snake (enclosed terrarium) & gecko (enclosed) as our family pets, but our open schedule/availability will be shared in my calendar. We have had dogs, cats, fish, tadpoles to frogs, even raised butterflies in the past. As a farm kid, I assisted in the care of livestock - beef steers, pigs, sheep; rabbits, barn cats, and the family dog, occasionally the horses.

Information Colleen W. would like to know about your pet
No breed preference, but knowing if a pet is social with others helps us plan out boarding. Please also let me know if your pup is an escape artist, opening gates, etc. Knowing your pet’s recent health issues helps as well. I want to ensure the health of all of our guests, yours included.
A typical day
When I care for your pet/home, your pet/home will be treated as if it/he/she were my own. Depending on what your pet enjoys, we could play fetch in the backyard, run about the yard, take walks, head over to a local park, or take it easy after a busy day.

Availability
I have volunteered with Potter Park Zoo, Sparrow Hospital, and work as a personal assistant & pet sitter. I stay in touch with vet techs, vet med science, Dept of Agriculture & Dept of Natural Resources. I am currently scheduled to be home during the week, which allows me to easily exercise/care for the boarding animals as needed.
