Pawsitively the Best Pet Sitter

Pet care experience

Hello! I'm new to the area but am not new to taking care of animals. For most of my life, I have enjoyed the company and responsibility of both small and big dogs of all ages. From growing up with one (the sweetest pug named Cassius), to fostering many throughout my adult life (mostly Boxers), and volunteering for an animal shelter organization in Indonesia where I grew up, I'm no stranger to the needs of your furry companions. I'm currently a dog mom to my sweet pup Olivia who is a 4 year old Bulldog mix. In the 1.5 years since I rescued her, Olivia and I have been through a lot. My knowledge of pet care in that time has reached new heights and I'm happy to apply what I know with your pet. My promise to you: I will care for your pet like it's my own, and keep him/her safe, giving you peace of mind to enjoy your time away from your best friend. Pictures and regular updates will be sent to assure you that your pet is taken care of and in good hands. For the active dogs, I live by a trail suitable for walking, and for the couch potatoes, I have a super comfortable couch as well as a Netflix subscription :) I look forward to giving your pet the best care and leaving you feeling good! I have been working from home since March 2020 due to COVID so I’m always around and can keep a close eye on your fur baby, taking him/her out for frequent potty breaks and walks. I live in a spacious and comfortable apartment that means lots of room for your dog as well as mine. Olivia is a 4 year old 53lb bulldog mix. She is very sweet and gets along with other dogs. If your dog enjoys the company of other dogs, he/she will be in good hands :) If your dog feels safe being crated while sleeping or if I have to step out, just let me know and I will make this happen.

This was a nightmare situation. After scheduling a meeting up and everything going well, Colleen had committed to watching my dog for my vacation. Less than 18 hours into my 8 day trip, Colleen calls to let me know she doesn’t believe it’s a “good fit” and tells me she is unwilling to continue watching my dog with complaints such as energy levels and getting into things (he’s a 13 month old french bulldog, this is 100% expected of a puppy and I had noticed a lot of things on the floor that he could get into during the meet and greet, which were supposed to be picked up prior to his stay). The other major concern that she brought up was of her dog possibly getting aggressive and BITING my dog. If your dog is even somewhat aggressive, you shouldn’t be on Rover at all. I am new to town and don’t know many people yet, so had to contact my friends in order to care for Theo while i was across the country the first day of my trip. Additionally, she also made a completely unprofessional and negative comment about my friend who picked theo up as a result of her failure to care for him; which is completely unacceptable.

Colleen has been one of my closest friends over the past 6 years. I remember one of our first bonding moments was over our love for animals, which immediately launched us into talking about our own pets. Colleen affectionately spoke about the love of her life, Cash, a cute little pug who she had since she was a kid. He lived a very long and happy life, and I think that's because Colleen had poured so much love into him! I wouldn't hesitate to ask Colleen to take care of my dog, after hearing and seeing the ways she's so affectionate towards animals. <3

Colleen watched my dog Zod for a week over Christmas break and did a great job! He's a pitbull and most sitters seem intimidated, but Colleen didn't judge him and was friendly with him from the start! I had a few meet-and-greets with Colleen and Zod to make sure they were comfortable with each other before I left for the break. What I loved most is that Colleen would send updates and photos. He was definitely in good hands and I'm glad I've finally found a sitter I can trust! Your pet will be in good hands!

My dog, Hudson, has boarded with Colleen at her house three times now. He loves it there! Colleen spends lots of time with him and takes wonderful care of him while we’re away. She is trustworthy and reliable. Highly recommend!

Information Colleen C. would like to know about your pet

I'd like to know your dog's temperament, energy level, whether or not he/she is good around other dogs, any specific diets/eating habits, treats or no treats, special needs (i.e. medication) and if your dog will do well in an apartment setting without a yard directly outside. Potty habits/behavior would be good to know as well (i.e. does your dog let you know when he/she needs to potty or do you take him/her regularly enough). Please also let me know if your dog has separation anxiety and needs to be crated when alone.

A typical day

Living in a walkable area of Los Angeles, I am in a dog-friendly area. Depending on your preferences and your dogs, we'll go for walks around the neighborhood and pick up a treat along the way. I am open to whatever activities your dog enjoys. For myself and Olivia, we tend to enjoy a balance of both activity and also chilling at home.
