Dog Lovin' California Transplant
Pet care experience
For the first 18 years of my life, I grew up with 2 Golden Retrievers and a Portuguese Water dog. I absolutely love dogs and find myself watching YouTube videos to figure out how to train dogs (since both my brother's dog and parent's new puppy could benefit from some additional training :-) If you hire me as your Rover sitter, your dog will receive top-notch care, complete with: *1.5 - 2.0 hrs of walks/hikes per day (as a high energy person, I enjoy getting outside and staying active! If your dog does too, we will be a great match :-) *Lots of TLC - just like humans, dogs also need affection. I will make sure your dog receives lots of daily doses of hugs and belly rubs! (if they like those) *Debrief on the sitting - I will share a detailed retrospective of what I learned about your dog, best practices to share with other Rover sitters, and what activities we did each day *Trips for "Puppuccinos" - if your open to your dog having a special treat once in awhile, I'll make sure they enjoy a Puppuccino from the coffee shop
Reviews
Colleen is great! Zoey does extremely well and feels at home when staying with Colleen. We really appreciate the extra attention and daily updates. Colleen is certainly our go to when Zoey needs a place to stay.
Colleen was wonderful! Our two dogs took to her immediately. We got regular updates on our trip complete with photos. They were clearly having a good time! In fact, they took great hikes everyday and went to the dog park for some fun. She could not have been nicer and fit in well with our dynamic household.
Colleen was a fantastic buddy and caregiver for our GSP-a dog who craves human love and lots and lots of activity. She treated him to daily outings and tasty treats. She's great at getting to know a dog, and she sent us daily updates (including photos) on what she was learning about ours-how he was adjusting, having fun, and relaxing. We wouldn't hesitate to call on Colleen again.
Colleen really went above and beyond taking care of our large dog Mowgi. She took him on walks twice a day, to different off-leash dog parks and on trails. She sent us photos every day so that our young daughter could see how Mowgi was doing. It offered us great peace of mind to know that Colleen was taking care of him, and she also left our house very clean. We we would love to work with Colleen again.

As someone who is more sensitive, I am typically fairly in tune with the needs of humans AND animals. I will ensure your dog gets outside multiple times per day, gets a daily long walk, and stays fed and hydrated.
Information Colleen C. would like to know about your pet
Please note: When assessing a potential Rover sit, I will also be ensuring you as the owner are a good match. I greatly appreciate proactive communication skills, a positive attitude, and follow-through. In return, you will receive the same :-) Thank You! Here are important pieces of info I would like to know about your dog: 1. Whether or not your dog has issues with other dogs - I do prefer more friendly dogs I can take anywhere without any issues. Happy to discuss unique situations, especially if your dog is a rescue and has experienced trauma in the past. If you prefer your dog stays at home and only walks around the neighborhood (vs. going to hiking trails or dog parks), I definitely understand. 2. How much training your dog has had - ideally it would help if your dog has the basics down, such as being a good listener, not being a flight-risk, and doing well during walks and hikes (vs. lying down or not moving....those can be challenging cases).
A typical day
I've been having such fun exploring the various trails and parks around Boulder and beyond. Two of my favorite places to take dogs are Coot Lake & Westminster Dog Park; these are definitely the Disneyland equivalent for dogs due to the wide-open space for running and abundance of other furry friends. I also really enjoy going to Foothills Dog Park in N. Boulder and Twin Lakes. If you are interested in having me board your dog, I live right across the street from the LoBo trail and love taking long walks in the AM.

Availability
After spending 10+ years living and working in Silicon Valley, I am currently taking a sabbatical to focus on things that bring me joy: dogs, nature, hiking, and coaching. Since I prefer working out in the morning (especially to beat this intense summer heat!), I typically like to get outside and walk/hike between 8AM - 10AM. I'll also take your dog for another walk later in the day as well.
