Pet care experience
I grew up with various breeds of cats and dogs in the household, and recently had to say goodbye to my own senior domestic short hair cat and senior black lab dog. My calming presence supports a natural connection with animals, and I love the company they provide. I get to know each little being! I know what its like to leave your pets with a sitter, so trust me when I say that your furry friends are important to me. My partner and I have blended work from home schedules, so there is usually someone in house at all times. I have experience in senior care, including administering medication, eye drops, mobility assistance, and diaper duty.

Coleen and Francis were wonderful! They cared for Ava even with some unexpected health things came up for her, and easily managed her medications and kept us up to date.

I can handle leash reactivity quite confidently, but I ask that you don’t leave this information as a surprise. I love to know the strengths and weaknesses of your pup — we all have them! That will help me understand their needs and reactions, and to meet them with compassion. Please advise if shoes or furniture are likely to be chewed! :)
A typical day
The Halifax Commons is just a few blocks from my house. It’s a great place to meet a few other dogs, if they like that sort of thing. I also like to go for runs, so if you have an energetic pup, I don’t mind wearing them out! If your dog is more of an indoors/backyard kind of pup, then we’ll keep it close to home and get lots of cuddle time in. Cats get lots of fun playtime with toys on the carpeted stairs, and extra cuddles on the couch!

Availability
Dogs have been part of my daily routine for years. They get walks in the morning and evening, and pee breaks as needed (provided either my partner or I are at home, which is usually the case). We love the company of pets, so there will be lots of opportunity for socializing.
