Pet care experience
Hi there! My name is Cody and I love animals! I've lived with dogs my entire life, and I've dedicated the last 9 years to caring for them professionally. In 2014 I got started in the pet care industry and knew right away I'd found my dream job. I'm trained on proper dog walking etiquette and have been walking dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments for years now. I've run/supervised multiple Denver doggie daycare facilities, (including City Bark, Canine Fitness and Fun Center, and BARK!) and have many years of hands-on experience. I've attended multiple dog CPR seminars (I'm also CPR/AED certified for humans). I've gone through multiple dog behavior programs including the current industry standard 'Knowing Dogs'. I have thousands of hours experience supervising groups of up to 45 dogs at a time. During my time at City Bark I worked with rescue dogs from the 'Front Range German Shepherd Rescue' through their foster program. I did the same with rescue dogs from the 'Safe Harbor Lab Rescue' at the Canine Fitness and Fun Center. Up until recently, I was the lead boarding kennel tech at a large facility where I took care of 50-60 dogs on my own every weekend for 3 years straight. I was also the go to guy for 'meet and greets' and temperament tests - I know dog body language. I can administer medications (insulin included if need be). I'm professionally trained in noticing warning signs - I have noticed the early signs of bloat on multiple occasions which gave the vet time to save the dogs lives. I've had 2 different rescue dogs over the last 7 years, one didn't like other dogs, and my newest cattle mix Cash is afraid of people. Because of this I like to think I've become a master at avoiding any and all possible triggers on walks. Fearful and/or aggressive dogs welcome. Most importantly, I love being with animals. I enjoyed working at a large facility, but it can be tough to give each dog the love and attention they deserve when you have so many. Working with dogs one on one has given me the opportunity to develop a real bond with them, which is very important to me. Your dog is important, and I will take care of them as if they were my own.
Reviews
We love having Cody dog sit for our two quirky fellas! He is great about communicating and sending photos with updates and I always feel at ease to know that he is keeping an eye on things.
The communication was excellent as Cody sent multiple updates throughout the day. The dogs were also very happy with the service provided. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend Cody!
Cody is incredibly trustworthy and communicative. We loved the frequent updates and pictures of our pup and he was very flexible with changes on our end. We will 100% be asking Cody to dogsit again next time we go out of town.
Cody came back for a second weekend stay at our house with our dogs. He’s very responsible, communicative, and respectful of our animals and our home. Would recommend Cody 100%! He’s the best!!

Information Cody J. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or requirements. I can administer medications as needed. I will avoid other dogs and people on our walks.
A typical day
If your dog wants to run we can run! If they'd rather take it slow and do some extra sniffing, that's just fine too. I don't wear headphones on walks so I'm better able to avoid unwanted distractions. Every dog is different, and I'll make sure yours has a fun time!
