Overall, the sitting services were okay! Unfortunately, I got there the morning of and Coco suddenly mentioned my 25 lb puppy was too big for her tea cups dogs (even though it mentions in his profile that he is 25 lbs). I asked if she wanted to cancel the booking because then I have to find someone else asap as I had an appointment that day, but she said she’d try. Once inside her house she asked me for his vaccine records, which I don’t carry around with me. I asked her if she wanted to cancel the booking since I don’t have them on hand, but she just insisted I call my vet to see if they can get them over to me. It was quite annoying to have to dig around old emails and call my vet to get records which she could have requested the night before and given me advance notice. Finally after she had me sign her own contract, I was handing her over my puppy’s food for the day and his toys and she says she charges an extra $5 per meal to feed them (even though I supplied the food) because she only feeds them for free if she boards them overnight. Since 20 min has past at this point I fed my dog on my own before leaving him there, but he had to have dinner once we picked him up since she was trying to charge extra fees. I called River once I left and they confirmed she can’t charge extra fees as long as the owner provides everything the dog needs (like food, toys, meds, poop bags etc). After I left I messaged her twice asking for pictures and and update on my pup, but she didn’t respond. So I called and she said he was doing great, even good with her tea cup dogs she was worried about. Overall I’m really glad that my pup did well and she was able to take care of him (he’s pretty easy other than being a puppy and wanting attention), but I was very unhappy that she decided to ask me for all these extra things and mention extra fees the morning of the drop off, instead of the night before where I could’ve been prepared for her or just picked a more easy going sitter. Would advise others to just ask her everything upfront and what you expect because I guess feeding my dog his already prepared meals during his 12 hour stay with her was too much. But she does love to be outside with the pups and play with them so that was nice.
