Trustworthy Dog Lover
Pet care experience
Hello, I am a recent retiree at 53. I worked for the government for 25+ years. I have owned two dogs in my lifetime. Simon who lived for 16 years and Judd who lived for 12 1/2 years and sadly passed away this past March. Throughout my life, animals have always played a special role. After Simon died, I wrote a book about losing him as it impacted me so much. I swore that if/when I was to have a second dog I would never take them for granted. Judd was an Animal Assisted Therapy dog for 8 years. Ive also volunteered for PAWS and am a lifetime donator to Best Friends Animal Society. I was also the volunteer coordinator for Strut Your Mutt in 2013 and 2014. It was a charity event sponsored by Best Friends. In 2018, I volunteered at Glen Afric Wild Cat reserve in South Africa. I could go on and on about how much I love animals especially dogs but you get the idea. Now that I am free, I want to do something with my time that is valuable to me. I’ve used Rover to find sitters for our dog and thought I’d give it a try to care for other dogs.
Reviews
Couldn’t have asked for a better stay for our pup! Great communication throughout and truly felt like they treated Shea as their own :)
Clive is amazing! He sent me great updates and treated my little man like a king! I will definitely be using Clive again!!!
Clive is super diligent and responsive. We had a meet up in advance and he asked lots of good questions about how to best care for Kiki. It was great to get pictures during the boarding, and to get a debrief at pickup. Will definitely be requesting more booking whenever Kiki can't come with us.
To say that Clive has set a high mark for all dog-sitters going forward is an understatement. He was phenomenal! Truly an animal lover, he not only took great care of our dogs but paid close attention to their needs and kept us updated. One of our dogs had some diarrhea and Clive even went to the store and got cottage cheese and rice and fixed the problem. One of our dogs is old and needs a little more care and Clive took him on him on his own walk so he would feel comfortable (and then took our younger dog on daily hikes at parks!). He left something and came to pick it up the day after we got home and our dog melted into Clive and wouldn't leave his side so that says all I need to know about how Clive treated our dogs. (Oh - and our house was left in perfect condition with sorted mail!). Clive truly is a great human and even better pet sitter. I can't recommend him enough!

We have a fenced yard with a doggy door so If your pooch is short/little he can use it. I will come to you and follow your instructions on the best way to care for your pooch. I will pay them lots of attention and play with them!
Information Clive L. would like to know about your pet
Let me know any special needs your dog has or any idiosyncrasies he/she might have. My dog, for example HATED skateboarders and cats. It’s best to know even the smallest details. You never know what you can run into!
A typical day
Depending on your dog’s needs, we could go to Ft Funston (if he/she is okay to go off leash) or go on a leashed walk to one of SF’s beautiful parks. I personally like Buena Vista park for its shady trails or Ocean Beach if your dog likes the beach or Glen Park Canyon for the adventurous pooch.

Recently retired so I am free anytime! We recently lost Judd but I’m happy to report we just adopted Wally, our new baby. While we figure out if he has any issues I can’t board right now but I’m happy to come to you!
