I live in near campus in Madison with a Indy the beagle, Juneau the husky mix and Wednesday the 14-year-old black and white kitty. I previously worked at a specialty pet health care store for two and a half years, giving me a detailed knowledge of dog and cat nutrition and day-to-day health issues. I also spent a year caring for pets in their homes with a family pet care business in Minneapolis, including for long-term care when families were away on vacation. After that, I spent a year as the the go-to caregiver for a pair of large, sweet but dog-aggressive dogs who needed four walks daily and medication morning and night. Beyond that, I’ve consistently animals in my home throughout my life; I can’t imagine it any other way. They’ve included a standard poodle, Manchester terrier, several cats, a frog, snake, chinchilla, two leopard geckos, two beta fish, a mouse, several hamsters and even a handful of pet cockroaches, including Smelly the Madagascar Hissing Cockroach.
