Certified Fear Free Pets Handler!

Pet care experience

I have been taking care of dogs and pets since before the age of 8. I grew up living on a farm where my brothers and I ran a pet daycare. During that time, I also helped train service animals for the blind because dog training and caretaking was apart of my homeschool curriculum. My brothers and I continued to pet-sit throughout our childhood and young adulthood. Over the years, I have continued to raise, train, and supervise dogs and cats of all breeds. I own a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, a Patterdale/Dachshund mix, and a long haired domestic cat so I have daily hands-on experience. I also worked for Wenatchee Valley Humane Society where I took part in training courses as well as classes on animal behavior including becoming a certified Fear Free Pets animal care associate. Working at the Humane Society also gave me more experience in how to interact with new dogs/cats so as to make the situation more comfortable for everyone. I am a kind and loving individual that knows how dogs and cats perceive energy. I know that if you're not fully comfortable with my service then your pet won't be either. I take the important steps to make sure everyone is happy, including being as quick as I can with my replies, maintaining a positive and communicative relationship, and reassuring that your pets needs are taken care of. If you are searching for a trained professional who can read and interpret how pets think and feel then I am the perfect fit for your family! I am looking forward to sharing my caring energy with you and your pets!

Clayton house-sat for me and took care of my dog Koko while I was away and did a wonderful job. He was clean in the house and communicated very well with me about his care of Koko. I will definitely use him again and highly recommend him as a pet and house sitter.

Clayton was great with my three pups and agreed to watch them with short notice. Also sent regular photo updates and was very responsive. Highly recommend!

Safety, trust & environment

I take my dogs on two walks daily, once in the morning and once at night. I feed my dog twice a day, once between 6am-8am and again between 6pm-7pm. Having pets on a reliable schedule helps out a lot so I try to adhere to a predictable itinerary which helps my pets recognize patterns and normalize with the routins. I also set aside time to train and play because it is important for pets to receive enrichment that stimulates their mind and senses. All habits I practice at home with my pets will in turn be applied to my clients pets.

Information Clayton M. would like to know about your pet

I am adept at handling all dog breeds but please let me know if there are any special activities or certain behaviors I need to be aware of. This includes leash reactivity, barrier reactivity, issues with strangers, issues with other dogs/pets, and anything else you feel would make the experience more safe and easier controlled for everyone involved.

A typical day

I live minutes away from the Saddle Rock hiking trails and minutes from the Loop trail so I always have options for where to take dogs on adventures. I live relatively close to multiple parks so those are always an option. My goal is to see your pet excited and happy so my typical day would consist of doing whatever to accomplish that goal.
