Pet care experience
I spent three months living with my sister and taking care of her dog Louie the Whippet. We became best friends!! I would go on long walks with him along the Erie Canal, chase him around the backyard, feed him, and give him treats as well! We loved going to Clarks Reservation and Green Lakes and on road trips to Ithaca! I gave him baths too. He would also sit with me while I played guitar.

I do not have any pets! We have a nice, fenced yard and a big, safe neighborhood perfect for walks. We are a walking distance to the Erie Canal walk, which we can safely walk to thanks to the sidewalks. Since we are in Fayetteville, there are plenty of sidewalks and parks to enjoy.

I would like to know a bit about their personality— are they more calm or active? Are they playful or independent? It is also important to me to know their triggers, so I am not taken by surprise, especially when on walks. For example, the dog in the house across from mine despises anything that has wheels— who knew! Any tendencies that they have are important to know. How do they act when they see other dogs on walks? Etc.
A typical day
The Erie Canal, Green Lakes, and Pratts Falls are my favorite places to go on walks. My neighborhood is also very walkable, and we are able to walk safely to the Erie Canal from my house! I enjoy playing fetch and “tag” with dogs— more so chasing the dog around the yard! Each dog is different though— Louie the Whippet loves to be chased around the yard because he loves showing off his speed! But he did not engage in tug of war or playing with toys. That being said, I am very adaptable and have various dog toys to choose from!

I am a recent college graduate and currently unemployed due to my mother’s vulnerability to COVID. I am extremely flexible with hours and am open to working as little or as often as needed. Open to setting up a long-term schedule, but short term opportunities are great as well!
