Let's play, cuddle or go for a walk
Pet care experience
Experienced dog lover! I got my first pup at 4 yrs old and have been around dogs ever since :) I've raised puppies in the past, was volunteering at Pet Welfare on base for 2 years b4 COVID, and occasionally foster pups for Road Dogg Rescue. As an adult, I've had 4 dogs in the past 15 years and am VERY much a Dog Mom :) I am the go-to for friends and co-workers in need of furbaby assistance, as everyone knows how much I love dogs. I am comfortable giving meds (haven’t given injections but can learn!), playing with energetic puppies, or taking your pupper(s) for a nice long walk (weather/temperature permitting). I am also versed in walking dogs that do not care for other animals or that like to chase squirrels & cats, and I am a firm believer that everyone's safety is paramount! I had a 65 lbs Bull Terrier that was leash reactive (stranger danger!), so we would just turn around, walk up a driveway, or leash correct while powering past! I have walked Danes & Mastiffs that did the same, and it’s all about making them feel safe and getting away from the situation while also having the right collar/harness to maintain positive control of the reactive pupperino. For home visits, rainy days or when it's just too hot out, playing and cuddles will be the agenda, dog permitting :) Don’t hesitate to contact me if you need last minute help! ***A few notes on extra charges, please read thoroughly and keep in mind that Rover takes a percentage of the booking total: - there is a rate difference between Drop-Ins and Walks, if a Drop-in is chosen on Rover but a Walk is requested in person then the booking will be modified. ***Additionally, if a Drop-in requires for your dog to be leashed - because of living in an apartment, or due to not having an fully fenced yard - the booking will be modified to a Walk - Drop-Ins do not include care for anything other than cats and dogs. Requests for fish to be fed, etc. will result in the booking being modified to add an additional fee (if approved) - if your location is further than a 15 minute drive* or 8 miles from the Shalimar Community Park, the booking will be modified and an additional fee of $8 per round trip will be added. This is non-negotiable. *Time of day must be taken into account when calculating drive time, ‘rush hour’ and lunchtime traffic can greatly impact this (i.e. an 8am request on Eglin AFB or a 4pm request on Okaloosa Island), both of which will more often than not have backed up traffic and delays* - If a request is made for a dog to be dropped off and/or picked up from Mercy’s or Primo, the cost will be $25 per trip (regardless of proximity). This is non-negotiable. A meet and greet will be required prior to approval of this service. - Any booking modifications/additional fees MUST be accepted prior to services being rendered.
Reviews
Such a great experience with Clarissa, will definitely use her again in the future. She loved on my pups and I was extremely comfortable with her handling my dog that can be a handful sometimes. 10/10!
Clarissa is the best!!!
Clarissa was amazing with our Boxer Sophia. She treated her like she was her own dog. She communicated with us every time she stopped by and took very good care of our baby. We will definitely be using her again!
2nd time having Clarissa do drop-ins. Happy with the service, no complaints. We will use Clarissa again.

I will ensure the pup(s) have clean water and have had ample chances to go potty. Depending on the individual, we can play or they can get plenty of rubbies if they desire. - SUMMER WALKING POLICY - ***I will not walk pups when the temperature is 85°F or higher (this includes the ‘feels like’ temperature). Hot asphalt can cause damage to their paw pads and heat stroke can be life threatening. Please see the infographics I have included in my photo gallery.*** - I get my weather information from the Apple Weather app and the WeatherBug app It is imperative that your pet be free of fleas or any other mites, as I have 2 dogs of my own. If fleas are found the booking will immediately be canceled. As a safety precaution, if your dog is a jumper and plays rough, please take the time to trim your dog’s nails prior to scheduling a service. Getting scratched is not enjoyable and can result in denial of future services.

Information Clarissa R. would like to know about your pet
- Is your dog leash or dog aggressive, frightful, or has any other special quirks that I should be aware of? - Are they anxious when meeting new people? - Are they a flight risk? - Are they grumpy and/or prefer not to be petted much? - Do they play bite? Jump up? Or play rough? - Let me know if there are certain areas your dog does not like to be touched, i.e. the ears, paws, etc.
A typical day
If a dog walk has been booked, then we shall cruise around your neighborhood, weather permitting. Lunchtime walks in the summer are not suggested as it is too hot here in Florida and the concrete/asphalt can burn a dog’s paw pads. If there is no yard available, I could take them outside to do their business and we could finish the time playing safely inside. A drop-in consists of potty breaks, fresh water, feeding if that’s when they eat, and playing if they are so inclined. If your pup does not like to play with strangers or prefers to lounge on the couch, then I could just keep them company :)
