Clare is my big sister, and I think that might be one of the best ways to describe her. She is thoughtful, caring, and a great friend. Clare was the one who insisted on our family getting both of the family dogs and cats that the rest of us eventually warmed up to. Clare volunteered at the humane society every summer in Northern Michigan caring for the animals as if her own and even sometimes bringing them home much to my parent's chagrin. She was the catalyst for our working parents to get our first dog, a golden retriever that she loved and adored. When she passed, Clare was adamant we get another furry friend this time one that was more of her responsibility. She found us a loving adopted mutt, who at 17 is still a loving member of our family. As Clare went off to college, and now is a creative living in NYC she adopted her own puppy who she has loved, trained, and cared for over the last year. Clare is smart, responsible, caring, and above all a true animal and people person.
