I have lived with animals all of my life, and with dogs since I was six. At home, I have a Carolina dog and terrier mix, and they're both my best pals! Additionally, I grew up caring for neighbors' animals, typically house sitting, feeding, or dog-walking. I've also accrued experience with animals from my five years of volunteering with a local shelter in Oregon. This commitment consisted of dog-walking for dogs of different sizes and personalities, as well as cleaning kennels, socializing and exercising dogs in runs. In my time at the shelter, I also became Yellow-Card Certified, meaning I could walk and socialize dogs of a greater variety of temperaments. My experience gave me the ability to work with dogs I'm not familiar with in busy, occasionally stressful environments with other animals around.
