Special care for your family member
Pet care experience
are an integral part of our family and get treated as such. One of the most stressful things as a dog owner can be ensuring your dog is well cared for while you are away. I am working from home during the week and would be home on weekends to spend time with the pups when booked for boarding. My spouse and I love dogs and are very attentive to them. I have owned and cared for dogs for over 19 years. I have experience: -training and caring for dogs, including formerly working at our local SPCA providing training and walking dogs of all ages and sizes -taking care of special needs dogs, including dogs with heart conditions, epilepsy, blindness, deafness, general old age, and Cushing's disease -giving oral or topical medications -fostering dogs with the Boston Buddies rescue -rehabilitating sick and injured seals and sea lions at a marine mammal care center I have traditionally owned rescued Boston Terriers and now have two spaniels, Addie and Loki. Loki is super friendly and submissive with dogs. Addie is a pandemic puppy and needs a slow introduction to new dogs and people. But after her initial shyness, she loves to run and play. I like to do a meet and greet to ensure everyone gets along before your dog's stay. We allow the dogs to interact and play under a watchful eye and when we are out running errands, we will keep the dogs separate until we know they are okay home along together (e.g. after repeat stays). We have a camera set up so we can see the dogs during the day if we are away. We also have the ability to section off different parts of the house so they can have their space if needed. The dogs have access to the entire house, but I also have a large dog room with dog door access to a large, fenced yard. The fence is very secure, including buried chicken wire along most of the fence to prevent skunks from entering the yard or dogs from digging out. The dogs are allowed on the furniture, and we want them to be as comfortable and relaxed as possible during their stay. Feel free to bring your dog's favorite toy, blanket, bed, etc. if you think it will make him or her more comfortable. But we also have plenty of toys and beds if you want to pack light. Amenities: Large secure fenced yard, with chicken wire reinforcements. 6ft wood fence and plenty of squirrels to chase. -Dog door -Dog room -Dogs can have access to entire house including on furniture -2 dog crates -Stocked toy bin -Cushy dog beds -Treats available, diet permitting -Training reinforcement, as needed
Reviews
Louie had a GREAT time at Claire’s! She was fast to respond and very flexible with drop-off and pick-up times. She sent me updates and pictures through out Louie’s stay and he came home a happy and pooped pup. Thanks, Claire!
Claire was wonderful with Koda and Sophie. She was super responsive, flexible with drop off and pick up and sent me lots of pictures of my two pups having a great time. They came home tired and happy. Would definitely book her again in the future.
After running out of family to watch my beloved Sheties, I came across Claire's profile on Rover and she seemed like the perfect sitter. I recently left my Shelties with her for 3 days and she not only kept them alive which was my primary goal but spoiled them like they were her own. She worked from home while they were there since they don't know how to use a dogie door. They went for walks everyday, snuggled and played in the backyard. She sent me updates with pictures several times a day. It was such a good experience for me and my fur babies. I'm so grateful for the exceptional care she provided and she is now my go to sitter. Thank you, Claire. You ROCK!
Claire and Andrew took such good care of my girl that when I came to pick her up she didn't want to leave. They made her part of their family and treated her so kindly that they are now my new permanent sitters!

Information Claire W. would like to know about your pet
I like to know: where they usually sleep, do they have dietary restrictions, do they get along with other dogs, any issues with children or humans of any sort, any habits or behaviours I should know about (e.g., really loves chasing squirrels or cats, is an escape artist, etc.). I don't have cats or kids, but these things are good to know for situational awareness. I do not have any breed preferences, but I love well mannered dogs and am happy to reinforce their good behavior and training with positive reinforcement and boundaries.
A typical day
We have a large yard with a secure fence for playing fetch. We also have a great neighborhood for walking. The activities depend on your dogs level of activity and socialization. We could take them on hikes or just hang out with them on the couch at home.
Services
Claire can host
Availability
Our two dogs get walked in the morning, and more throughout the day depending on the weather. They play in our large fenced yard, but sleep most of the day. I work full time from home so I will be around for potty breaks, but we also have a dog door so the pups can go in and out as needed. If you are boarding the weekend, we will be around to take care of your pup or can take them in an outdoor adventure with us depending on their level of activity and socialization.
