Taking care of dogs and animals has been a family legacy since my grandfather's time, as an owner of horses, parrots, doves, marsupials, primates, dogs, cats, you name it. Respect and love for the animals that bring so much joy to our lives is kind of an unspoken principle in my family! Everyone knows I am the animal whisperer. I am called upon to groom, bathe, mani/pedi, walk, train, babysit and care for all of my friends', sisters' and parents' cats, parrots, and dogs. I especially take joy in training my own service dog and apple of my eye, Ruby, a chocolate and white Old English Sheepdog and Miniature Poodle mix. I have a degree in Psychology with a specialty in learning and development, and am especially attentive to what the animals are communicating to me! I think that's what makes me so successful at giving them what they need and making them feel cared for, safe, and relaxed. I am off for the summer while waiting to start my remote graduate studies in social work. I have high exercise needs so being a Rover is a perfect match for me and my routines! I have a large fenced in private dog run connected to my home and my first floor is a large open space with huge windows and a large fenced in patio perfect for dogs to run around and play with each other. I am close to many parks for long or short walks and have many enrichment activities available for dogs to exercise their brains and bodies! I have gates, multiple rooms, and separation play areas for peaceful and relaxed meal times for dogs who are not used to eating with unfamiliar dogs or are trying to establish hierarchy by food order!
