Welcome to Pup's Paradise. I'm your host, Claire Stacey, and I am so glad you're here. 🐶 Dogs have been a big part of my life ever since I was a kid growing up on the farm. I am a big animal lover but dogs hold a special place in my heart. 🌁 I work part-time at the courthouse in Oshawa and board dogs to help supplement my income. What better way to make a living than doing something you love! 🏡 The guests at my home are welcome in every area of the house, they can go on the furniture and some even end-up in my bed at night. They are part of the family. 🌄 We go for twice daily walks around the neighborhood, make trips to the lake, conservation areas and fenced dog park. 💊 I am experienced at administering oral medication, flea and tick topical treatments, and can accomodate dietary restrictions such as raw and wheat-free diets. 🗓️ I require a meet-and-greet with all new clients prior to booking. I do not accept last minute bookings, so please keep this in mind when making your reservation requests. 🏡 If you prefer to have your furry family member remain in a familiar setting, I've got you covered. Claire was amazing! They had nice long walks, fed on time and kept warm. Attentive from the moment we got there. I would give Claire 10 stars if I could because that is a level of attention and loving my dog while I was gone for 4 days.
Claire was wonderful with our little sassy Terrier for a week! I loved the updates, pictures and Khloe came home happy and relaxed. She isn't the easiest dog all the time but Claire and her wonderful husband even took time to work on training with her. Will be sending her back and would highly recommend!

Claire is amazing! We are thrilled that we found her and we will definitely be using her again. She is kind, caring, patient and has a way with dogs that naturally make them love her. Our dogs came back to us in fantastic spirits after over a week in her care. She respected our requests and made every accommodation to make our dogs feel comfortable in her home. She even dealt with a barking issue with our small dog. We are very grateful for everything she and her husband did to care for our pups.

I have a fully fenced backyard. Dogs are never left outside on their own, they are in my presence at all times. They are always kept on leash when taken on an outing, and only let off when inside the fully fenced dog park.

I do not accept dogs with food aggression issues. Any guest who exhibit this behaviour may be asked to end their stay early, as this behaviour makes the experience of other guests unpleasant. I only accept dogs under 20lb.
A typical day
I love nature and thoroughly enjoy being outdoors. In the warmer months, my guests and I spend as much time in the backyard as possible. I also attend the dog park as often as I can, take my guests to conservation areas they are permitted, as well as walks at Lake Ontario. These outings require the consent of their parent/owner. When indoors my guests are treated to new bones/chews on rainy days, provided lots of toys to play with, and of course, encouraged to play with one another! A tired dog is a happy dog, after all. ☺️

Availability
I currently work outside the home 21 hrs/week. Approximately 4 hours/day. Otherwise, I am available to the guests in my home, with the exception of running short errands. I also travel to clients for in-home pet care.
