Pet care experience
I have been a huge dog lover (and animal lover in general) since day 1. I grew up with golden retrievers and then volunteered at an animal shelter after moving away from home. At the shelter I worked with all breeds and sizes and learned some great skills like meeting new dogs with unknown histories, steps for dog socialization, types of harnesses and muzzles if needed, and different types of training. I have my own rescue named Dezi and love to take her running, hiking, and swimming. I just moved to Portland and I am currently studying for my occupational therapy board exam, so I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule. This is a great way for me to take breaks from studying and explore the city. I look forward to meeting you and your pet!

Claire did a wonderful job house sitting for us and our dog and two cats. It is always hard to leave my dog behind but she was not allowed at this adventure and Claire saved the day. I felt very comfortable and confident knowing that Claire was taking care of everything at home. She did a great job communicating. She sent pictures everyday and I could tell my dog was getting lots of love and attention. When I got home everything was clean and nice and the critters were all happy. I hope to have Claire watch them again next time we have to leave and I know our fur babies will be in good hands.
Claire was an amazing dog walker while I was out of town. I hadn't used Rover much before so I was a little nervous to leave my 3 big, rowdy dogs with anyone but I would absolutely ask Claire again. She handled them perfectly, helped clean up some messes they made, and kept me informed of all the happenings. Claire is kind with the dogs and has a natural way of getting their attention and getting them to follow her direction. Excellent in every way!!
Sherlock is a shy kitty but he absolutely ADORED Claire. She was a great sitter that I will definitely hire again!

A typical day
I would love to take your dog for walks or runs around the neighborhood. I helped train our family dogs since they were puppies and would be happy to implement any training that you are currently working on with your pet. My own dog is dog reactive and I understand the consistency of training. I also can teach your dog some tricks! Beyond the basic commands, I taught my dog to "leave it," "sit pretty" on her hind legs, "high five," and jump over obstacles.
