Pet care experience
I was lucky enough to have a wonderful Labradoodle growing up who loved me for 16 years before she crossed the rainbow bridge. She was less capable of bowl and bladder movements in her later years, so I had to grow my compassion and patience. I also was blessed with a Goldendoodle about 3 years ago who taught me the true meaning of owning and loving a dog. I have pet sat dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, amphibians for many friends and neighbors over the years. I am an equal opportunity pet lover that does discriminate by species or breed!

Claire took great care of our dog and three cats. She sent regular updates with photos and we could see everyone was happy. We would definitely recommend her to others.

Claire was extremely helpful, flexible, reliable, and went above and beyond to meet every need we had for our dog Gracie. Our dog needs a little extra attention than other dogs and Claire and her boyfriend John K. (Also on Rover) were more than happy to accommodate those needs. We would recommend them to anyone and will definitely use them again if we are ever in need of a sitter.
Claire was so helpful with my pup, Rory! She was super easy to work with, sent great pics of their time together, and cared for Rory just as much as I do.

I have a 4 year old goldendoodle that adores other dogs and would love to keep yours company if you’d love socialization while you’re gone. She’s American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen certified. She also has a dad that would be happy to care for her while you’re away so all my attention could be on your babies. I love taking my dog on walks and exploring parks and Clinton Lake.

It’s important for me to know if your dog is reactive around other dogs and specific types of people. I often go on walks with my dog and my boyfriend and I need to know if your pet doesn’t like other dogs or men, hats, sudden movements, being touched on the head/chest/paws. I’m all about safety and setting your dog up for success! If your pet needs a harness or a muzzle, I would love to know the best method for putting those items on them. If your dog requires medication on a specific schedule or is not allowed to have a certain ingredient (gluten) I need to know as well because I often take dogs to Mass Street, where people love to throw their food on the ground instead of in the trash and the employees of the businesses love giving treats!
A typical day
I plan to provide enrichment opportunities to your dog by taking them to explore neighborhoods and parks around your home! I also love going to Clinton dog park and Clinton lake to walk the paths and provide socialization opportunities if your furry friend isn’t reactive around other pets! I occasionally take my dog to Bar K in Kansas City for extra exercise and would love to take your pup too if you provide the $15 fee for dogs without memberships! My partner’s parents have a huge backyard that my dog loves to run around in and long term care pets may get to join her if you’re okay with it!

Availability
I am a social work graduate student at the KU Lawrence campus and have class all day on Mondays (8AM-6PM) and have a practicum in Topeka on Wednesdays and Thursdays all day as well. Tuesdays and Fridays are nice and open and I don’t work weekends at all, so I would be more than happy to spend as much time loving on your pet(s) as needed. I also would be happy to check in before and after work/class, spend the night when I have work/class the following day, and would love to spend my days off checking in or going for walks with your four legged friend!
