A true friend leaves paw prints on your heart

Pet care experience

I have loved animals since a very young age and have always had pets in the house. We sadly recently lost our dog to cancer and are waiting a little bit before getting another. So I thought this was the perfect opportunity to give my time and love to someone else's pets. I love going for walks in all weather but also love snuggling on the sofa or playing fetch in the garden. I worked in a dog boarding kennels for 2 years so have a vast experience of different breeds, walking multiple dogs at once, giving medication, feeding etc...

Claire really helped us out when we were let down last minute by our sitter, she’s so lovely and took time to find out about our dog and what he likes and doesn’t etc. Claire kept us updated with messages and pics while he was with her and he had an absolutely great time! It was really reassuring to leave our dog with someone who obviously loves animals and with the enclosed garden and long walks he’s come home very tired which is great for us 😁 wouldn’t hesitate use Claire again and throughly recommend her. Thanks again

Claire is the most reliable and friendly person you could ever hope to be looking after your pet. She is extremely thoughtful and has such love and care for animals. You will instantly be completely confident in Claire and more than happy to trust her entirely with your pet. Claire has worked in kennels in the past and has a lots of experience in the care of animals. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Claire, she is a truly lovely person who will always care for your pet as if it were her own.

Claire has looked after our dogs for many years now and I can say that she is 100% trustworthy, a very loving and caring person who always has the animal’s interests as a number one priority. She is happy to play with and walk any sort of dogs and they take to her immediately, which is a good indication of anyone’s worth as a human being. I would be happy to leave any animal in Claire’s care for any length of time.

I've known Claire for almost a decade and can honestly say she is one of the most genuine animal lovers I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. She has experience working in the animal industry, specifically in a boarding kennels so would be very well suited to this role. She has owned her own dog & been heavily involved in the care of family dogs as long as I've known her. Myself & my own dogs have regularly stayed with Claire and been made to feel very welcome in her home. Claire is one of very few people I would trust to look after my boys! She is kind, compassionate, patient & dog savvy. She is an avid walker so I can safely say any dog in her care would be completely fulfilled.

I live in a house with my partner who also loves animals, we have a fenced back garden for your dog to play and have toilet breaks in. We live near lots of nice and varied walks which I am really familiar with. I will always prioritise your pet's safety and will be contactable throughout my time with them. I'll also happily update you throughout the day with cute photos of your pet and what we're getting up to.

Information Claire D. would like to know about your pet

I am happy to meet up prior to me looking after your pet to make sure that we're a good match for each other. Please let me know of any intolerances so I can make sure they get the right treats. I'll also need to know whether they have any behavioural issues (scared of other dogs, food guarding etc...) so that I am aware and can look out for any signals from them and act accordingly.

A typical day

A typical day would consist of 1-2 walks, either first thing in the morning, lunch and/or evening depending on dogs needs and my schedule (if working from home). Either to local parks or further afield if they're happy in the car. If your dog likes fetch then I can play with them in the garden. I also enjoy making enrichment games with treats/toys. If you let me know what tricks your pet can do, I'll happily run them through some tricks and help keep up any training you have with them. The day will end with cuddles on the sofa after dinner.

I'm currently working full-time but I work from home 2 days a week and I can amend those from week to week. So I have flexibility to amend my schedule to meet pet sitting/walking needs. When at home and boarding I can do a walk first thing, at lunch and/or after work; I am also able to take regular breaks throughout the day. When in the office, I am normally home by about 5.30 and can provide walks then. I am at home on the weekends.
