Pet care experience
I love dog walking and typically walk 2-5 mi/day with a dog(s). Enjoy on-leash and off-leash with dogs with good recall. Currently have or had: cats, reptiles (pacman frog, bearded dragon, anole and their feeders), fish (freshwater, have cared for saltwater), small mammals (hamsters, guinea pics, rats). Can pill a dog, can give cat injections (diabetic, etc). If desired, can train your dog on basic commands: sit, stay, come, leave it.

Claire watched our two cats while we were away and we will definitely be hiring her again. One of our cats used to be sick and requires extra attention and she handled him perfectly. Our cats can be finicky with people but ours took to her very quickly and seemed to really like her. Claire was extremely communicative and provided lots of pictures and updates, giving us peace of mind while we were away! Would definitely recommend!!

I have a fenced backyard with a doggie door. I can walk your dog on leash during the day. I have a friendly dog who is used to company (human, canine, and feline) in the house, but I can segregate your dog if desired. We have cared for dogs in our home for up to two weeks, including a dog who likes to use an indoor potty pad. I can crate your dog if you provide appropriate size crate. We allow dogs to cuddle on our lap on the furniture, but can enforce a no furniture policy if desired. We do not allow dogs on our beds. Typically new dogs do not know how to use dog door; we can either train or block off at your desire. I understand that everybody has their dog trained to their lifestyle, and we will do everything possible to maintain and stay consistent with your preferences.

Please let me know any special needs or behaviors your dog may exhibit. We have hosted dogs on special diets and our dog is on a special diet. We have also hosted dogs trained to pee pads. Large dogs must be obedient to ensure safety for them and our own dog. We can and have accepted un-neutered male puppies.
A typical day
We take daily walks in both neighborhoods and trails. I allow the dogs to explore new scents and areas. I enjoy fetch games, probably more than the dogs! If your dog is receptive, I give good ear rubs, tummy scratches, and general human interactions. At your discretion, I can train basic commands -- dogs generally enjoy pleasing others. I am happy to do any special activities that you know your dog enjoys. I have a very friendly Bernedoodle who often becomes best friends with newcomers. Special toys, bedding, etc. are welcome.

Availability
I am typically available daily during the week. I am WFH, part-time and walk my own dog daily. Can be available on weekends by request. Summer and winter weekends I am available, less so in the spring and fall.
