Your dog's best friend. ♡

Pet care experience

Here's a little about me: I'm a 26 year-old who has two of the most amazing dogs in the world; a 17 year-old Cockapoo named Kobi, and a 6 year-old Pit Bull named Jax. They're the best dogs ever known to man, I swear. My life revolves around them. I'm a certified and Nationally Registered EMT and I assist in search and rescue efforts when hurricanes impact the states. Before moving to Tennessee (just this August), I worked as a security officer and I plan to enter the Police Academy in December of this year, so you can rest assured that your beloved babies will be in safe hands. All my life I've lived with at least one dog and have always been the one to take care of them and watch them. I even watch over my family and friends' dogs. I can't get enough of them, so it's not even like a job to me. A few years back, whilst on Facebook, I saw a post about a 1 1/2 year old brindle Pit Bull that was to be put down in a high-kill shelter in NYC the next day simply because she got kennel cough from the shelter. Many people shared the post, however no one was stepping forward to adopt her. I stayed up all night to keep tabs on her and at about 3am, I made the decision to drive from Virginia (where I lived at the time) to NYC in order to save her life. I got there just hours before she was scheduled to be put down. I fostered this sweetheart for a couple of weeks and nursed her back to health until I was able to find her the perfect family that she now calls home, forever. I also used to be a dog groomer (though I no longer have a shop after uprooting and moving states a few times). I love grooming and I miss my client's pups so much. On top of that, I have volunteered my extra time at local shelters and have donated numerous items off of their wish lists to them, as well as raising thousands of dollars to support them and their animals. When I say dogs are my life, I mean it. I love them entirely and I hope to be able to spread my love to your dog(s), as well. By hiring an experienced and professional pet sitter, your pet will be able to suffer much less stress by staying in their own home and sleeping in their own bed. Additionally, there will be no exposure to dangerous illness from other animals, as is a concern with kennels, and I will provide the extra TLC they'll need while you're away. No one wants their baby feeling sad or lonely while they're away, and I'll do everything in my power to ensure that doesn't happen. You can trust me and feel confident your pet is in capable, caring hands while you're away from home. If you prefer your dog come to me, that's equally as welcome! They'll get plenty of playtime in with my friendly and sociable pups and will get all the love they could imagine. I offer "Meet & Greet" interviews for first time clients, because I want you to feel comfortable with the whole process, and with me. My goal is to give you the peace of mind you'll need when you are away, and to make your return convenient, easy, and hassle-free. Depending on your distance from me, I can visit your dog(s) up to 4 times each day, at 20 - 40 minute durations, or I can stay at your home for as long as you'd like me too, including overnights if that's what you prefer. I am very flexible and will work with you to set up a schedule and system that works best for you and your pet(s). You can also rest easy knowing that I am insured while in your home. I have experience administering medications for both cats and dogs. I will also walk them, play with them (of course), snuggle and love them, and whatever other activities you'd like me to do. I have taken care of as many as 5 dogs at one time for a week or more, so no pet sitting job is too difficult for me, because when you love animals like I do, it never seems like work. - Ciera F.A.Q. Q: How many visits are there per day? A: The number of visits is determined by you, the pet owner. Normally, cats require only one or two visits per day, unless medications need to be given. Dogs usually have two to three visits per day at morning, midday and evening, but the number of visits and time of visits are at the client's discretion. Q:How long are the visits? A: The length of each visit depends on the client's needs. The average visit lasts 20-45 minutes, but longer visits may be requested and the price would be adjusted accordingly. Q: Will you provide services other than animal care? A: I can also bring in the mail, open/close blinds as needed, take out the trash, clean litter boxes as needed, turn lights on or off, etc. to provide your house the security it needs while you're away. Q: What will happen if my pet becomes ill while I am away? A: If your pet becomes ill while you are away, I will contact you first, unless I deem it to be an emergency. In the case of an emergency, I will take your pet to the vet you indicated on Rover. If their office is closed, I will take your pet to the emergency vet clinic. Q: Will you spend the night? A: I am available to do overnight stays on most occasions. This type of visit usually requires more advance notice so that I can mark those dates on my calendar, however if it's a last minute overnight stay that you need, just let me know and I'll see if I can open up a spot for you! Q: What if you are ill and can't take care of my pets? A: If I have an emergency or become ill, my boyfriend is my backup. He loves dogs and cats just as much as I do and is very experienced, and will make sure your pet receives the same love and attention as well as the specific services you requested. Please Note: Locations more than 15 miles from Little Falls, NY 13365 - incur an additional $1.00/mile fee after the first 15 miles unless other another agreement is made. Ciera was amazing! She sent me pictures of my dog, Sadie, and sent me daily updates on how everything was going. Sadie got sprayed by a skunk while I was away, and Ciera did an impeccable job handling the situation and getting the smell out. She's the best dog sitter we've used.

Information Ciera F. would like to know about your pet

I love all breeds. I am a huge pit bull advocate, so I would never breed discriminate. However, I would like to know some things about your pets prior to caring for them: The more an owner can put down in the "care instructions" portion of their dog's Rover profile, the more comfortable I feel. Here are some typical questions I will ask of a dog owner during a meet and greet: - Do they get along with other dogs large or small? (important to know for walks and time spent at the dog park) - Have you left them with someone before when you have traveled? - Do they have a regular feeding & bathroom schedule? - What are their walking habits/behaviors? - Are they prone to bolting or trying to escape? - What is their usual routine during the day? - Do they get aggressive or protective over food/toys? - Do they chew or gnaw on things other than dog toys? - Do they have a favorite toy? - Are they allowed any treats? - Are they allowed on the furniture? - Do they use a crate? - Are there specific things that can trigger anxiety and/or accidents? - Do they bark at noises/strangers? - Have they ever bitten anyone? (this won't deter me from watching your dog, but it's good to know the behaviors your dog tends to have when meeting them) - Are there any medicines that are needed to be administered? - Do they have any little quirks I should be aware of? (i.e. don't liked a certain part of their body touched, etc.) - What things do they really love?

A typical day

For walks: We'll go for plenty of walks around town! I want your dog to feel like you're not even away, so it's my job to keep them occupied and happy. There also will be some fun games of fetch and tug-of-war involved, too. ;) Your dog's sleeping arrangement: Your dog will sleep wherever he/she feels comfortable. If that means your pet sleeps with me, then I'm thrilled! If you prefer I crate your dog at bedtime, just let me know, and we'll do that. It's completely up to you and what you and your dog(s) are comfortable with! Time I'll spend with your dog: Honestly, as much as your dog will allow! For every minute I am there, I will be giving your dog love and attention for as long as they're willing to take it. :)
