Pet care experience
I have had a lifetime of owning and caring for dogs, from larger breeds like dobermans and boxers, to smaller breeds like schipperkes and pekineses. I also have been owned by cats, parrots and a few reptiles. There are no animals that people have taken in as companions that I will not care for and really enjoy being with. I have some limited experience with exotic animals, but I would relish the opportunity to care for any exotic breed. I am also experienced in working with companion animals with special needs, needing medication or IV drips. I have used the same Veterinarian for over 20 years, so I have a good working relationship with veterinarian recommendations and orders. I used to do Animal Rescue and Transport, so I know Animal First Aid, should the need arise. You can feel confident that when leaving your pet with me, it will be like family for me. And no emergency will catch me off guard. I've seen it all.

I generally get along well with all breeds. I do like to know if the dog is skittish, and therefore might respond with some aggression when feeling threatened. That would alert me to a quieter approach while getting to know hi/her better. I have no qualms about dealing with the breeds that have gotten a bad reputation. I think that pitbulls and rottweilers are fine breeds and would not hesitate to sit for them at all.
A typical day
The Bear Creek Dog Park is just a few miles down the road from me, and it is certain to be a big hit with your fur-child! Memorial Park is not far, either, if your dog prefers to just walk in the woods. My personal one is just a drive just outside of Houston, with face out the window, ears flapping in the wind. We could also be home-bodies and play catch in the yard, and have a belly rub on the carpet after a few treats or play with the hose in the summer heat. Just let me know what your fur child enjoys and that is what we will do while I am doing his visit.
