If you ask anyone I know, they'd definitely tell you that I prefer dogs over people. The majority of dogs I’ve had the pleasure to interact with have an innate ability to make even the saddest days a little better! I grew up with both large and small dogs for my entire childhood and have had a dog of my own, Duke, for nearly 7 years now. I adopted him from the local Humane Society back in my hometown when he was a puppy and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. After his adoption, I continued to volunteer at the same Humane Society by dog walking and fostering puppies when it was needed. It felt much more like I was being rewarded rather than giving my time away. When I have to leave town for a few days or even take a day trip, my first priority is making sure Duke is in good hands. It’s incredibly hard to trust just anyone with your animal, because they aren’t just animals - they’re family. And you want to make sure they are left in good, capable hands with someone who will treat them with the same care and respect as you do. I’d love to be that person for you! I’m temporarily unavailable for boarding but in the meantime, I’m happy to take your furry family member on a walk or check in on them for you when you’re not able to.
